To me, a 10 artist is a professional with a mastery over a wide variety of skills (including all of the fundamentals), who can apply the skills they excel at to quickly fill the gaps in their knowledge and produce high-quality content regardless of subject-matter.
In that manner, I would rate myself somewhere between a 5 and a 6 as an artist. The reason for that is because I'm REALLY good at covering up my weaknesses, and there is SO MUCH I've just neglected to learn and practice when it comes to art. And covering up (or learning up) those weaknesses takes time, so I'm a very slow and inefficient artist as a result, which basically closes the professional option to me.
I think as a writer I'm somewhere in the 6-7 range. I've won a few contests, had top marks for all my creative writing classes at uni, and I know that if I try, I can write things that are pretty captivating. But same as art, there's just things I neglect to do and that's really holding me back.
I don't really consider either of these ratings as like, a sign that I hate my art or writing. I just know that there are a lot of things I can do to be better that I don't do. And that's okay. The door is always open if I wanted to get serious about being a 9-10 artist and writer.
