How would your mc celebrate the holidays?

My main character, Viper, hates holidays. Mostly because she's a naturally unsocial and moody individual. However, my other characters love the holidays! They use the occasion as opportunities to poke fun at Viper.

For instance, her twin sister makes Viper dress up and take pictures! Which is what inspired the picture I drew below!

Draan, as an abandonned, wild child, would eat one of santa claus reindeer's after he landed and santa would lift hands and shoulders and say "Well, i suppose it's what he wanted for christmas... How the fuck i'm supposed to deliver other child's presents now ?"

(maybe i should draw it... or not... it doesn't seem to be a good idea, people would take it the wrong way x) even tho i find it comedic in my head.)

Tina would take advantage of any traditions to make money, like selling 'authentic' holiday merchandise to unsuspecting people or claiming to follow a very Earth specific tradition while on another planet so she can double or triple her pay for that day. She'd be the kind of person to dress up as Santa and steal presents from under trees only to sell them back to the people she stole them from.

Since my main character, Lucius is a grim reaper and he had never lived in a human world before, he doesn't have a clue. After he was expelled to the human world and lives his life with Elena (his human lol), I think Elena would teach him a thing or two about holidays They would probably dress up in a matching Santa outfit haha

Both Fletcher and Ryan are the type of people who would spend the holidays curled up on the couch with the person or people they care most about. Spectrum actually covers Christmas, so I've written Fletcher and Lance's first Christmas together.

Meanwhile, Lyric would make it her mission to make the holidays extra special for Luke, inviting him to all of the Christmas parties and pestering him endlessly so that she knows just what to get him for a present (or presents).

Landon isn't the happiest kind of guy but, probably make a sundae for his closest friend, who, also doesn't have someone to celebrate the holiday with!

in an ideal world cath & balor would be out of captivity and living in some cosy cabin by the sea with a big found family. in which case, the holidays would be spent eating lots and lots of food, playing both fomor and human games and sharing rituals between the two cultures, and a lot of storytelling. its a well known fact that storytelling is an irish tradition, and fomor are no different.

in their current states, however, the winter solstice is less of a happy time. balor's probably just slept through it the past few years, although she gets some seasonal treats around that time. meanwhile cath gets to engage in all the partying and frivolity of an irish solstice - however, theres a lot of tension within the keep's human community, and a bit of a 'remember we suffered / are suffering' overtone to the holiday now.

I have three MCs (which might be a big surprise to anyone reading the book so far).

Odin is Festivus sort of guy. He's practical He believes that religion and commercialism both have their places, but they should not be mixed. He would erect an aluminum pole in his command ship. He might command his minions to bow before the pole just for his own inner lols. If challenged, he's willing to erect the largest Festivus Pole in the universe.

Shiva is all about the parties. Since New Years is the most intensely packed holiday of the season, he would focus on that. Oh, I know. He would speed around a planet in order to enjoy midnight several times, once per time zone. Then he would travel to another inhabited planet and repeat the process for a two (or three) day long epic bender.

Isis is tougher to pin down. She likes them all. She likes decorations, so she would probably celebrate all of the holidays of the season so that one flows right into another without pause. From the twinkling white and gold of X-Mas to the vibrant colors of Kwanza, her home would be an absolute assault on the senses.

None of these characters have much of an appreciation for restraint.

I write a poetry comic Existentialist Crisis so I don't have a main character per se. But the entire December month was dedicated to Christmas + Yuri on Ice episodes.

As for the protagonist of my slice of life novel Beautiful Rebellious Brainiacs, right now it's March in her universe so it would be very weird if she starts celebrating Christmas. Though I am toying with the idea of doing a Christmas side story.

She wouldn't.

That last x-mas before her capture she got into a big argument with her mom and never apologized before she was killed. She feels really guilty about it and it's too painful

Eman won't celebrate them. Just pure indifference like they're just another day. That and, memories of his abusive parents will just haunt him and bring out PTSD episodes. So he'd rather not touch em with a 10 foot pole.

My characters Lillian, Noel and Meredith would have a sleepover on Christmas Eve! Here's a drawing I did of that. The holidays just seem so warm and cozy and I felt this would be fitting.
