The fact that it's difficult to find is enough proof, to me, that it is dishonest. When you do such a big change that changes the whole meaning and purpose of the event, you have to communicate LOUDLY about it...

Also, a ton of mixed messages to be fair. I remembered that early it was bonus ink, somewhere, but then later they said it was regular ink. I guess we'll know in mid-December which it is

Because surely that's the way to communicate this kind of information. Not on the official information sent through the website, but on a file on an assets folder filled with many other files people maybe or may not check because it's, well, an assets folder :+1:

Will I be able to give this ink to indie creators or just the premium comics/novels?

If they really give it in bonus ink, no, that's for premium stuff only

"small print.......the beacon of transparency and trustworthyness"

It saddens me to see how low has Tapas fallen........

Having so much issues right now with ink (cant even access anything).
I hate this ink system. Its comes across as a scam. If ink is ink why cant I give my bonus ink to others.
I have to buy ink to support so Tapas gets a percentage. And am I reading right it now comes back as bonus ink?
I prefer to support with a system like KO-FI or Patreon (as much as I dont like them either)
At least the creators get something to help them create.
Ink has no value outside Tapas. none. nada.

and that was my first inksgiving i participated. I wanted to get actual inks back, but not as bonus ink!

yeah im pissed. I'm really pissed. lets boycott inksgiving next year

Well! Time to celebrate supporting the community by reading Tapastic's newest premium series: "Reincarnated in another world as a stylish pair of pants and also being bought at a fantasy world's Old Navy for a reasonable price to be worn by a villainess who is also me!!!???!"

So looks like we suffered from some sort of Mandela effect because I looked at my transaction history and the ink I received back in previous years was indeed bonus ink. Now, I participate in events often, so it also happened that I received regular ink on the same day last year, and with a few days difference the year before that. Maybe that's why I remember being able to give it to community creators? I'm not sure, but my brain kinda hurts now xD

2020

2019

I am extremely disappointed. This year I struggled financially and could afford a lot of ink, so finding out that the bonus can only be used to unlock premiums seriously ruined my plans and ran out of ink before I could support all the creators I love. :pensive::pensive::pensive::pensive:

I know, but it was explained to me it was bonus ink. That's as far as I know :raising_hand:

(I'm still confused)

i think i remember now......back in the day, the ink earned from inksgiving was like regular ink but with an expiration date........

It says ink reimbursement. You cannot reimburse with a lower grade product if you are an honest company. It's bad enough that there is an expiry date, even worse if it was bonus ink from the beginning. We are now discussing whether Tapas started scamming us only this year, or many years ago
I still think it is more likely it was expiring normal ink.

for the old inskgiving events ink was returned as regular ink but iirc it did have an expiry though i don't recall why but it may show up with an expiry now based on whatever tapas new back-end system may be since the site overhaul

the change for it to now be bonus ink is disappointing but not that surprising. it's possible events like these may have run tapas at a deficit or something (and lets not forget that tapas does need it's profits) so their way of making up for it is having folks use bonus ink on the premium or early access series which puts money back into their pockets

again it def sucks because rather than folks being able to give to any creator of their choosing it's now a limited pool of premium + early access comics and since their the big rats that make all the rules we've no choice but to follow suit or go elsewhere

i'd say for folks who are able give to ko-fis/patreons if you can or reshare stuff on social media. as for response to tapas it's basically the same as any other time people have any gripes with a company (boycotting, rescinding financial support, voicing issues/complaints in a more public place or taking work/business elsewhere)

like call me pessimistic but at the end of the day business is gonna do what business is gonna do whether people like it or not and sometimes the peoples response does things to change those decisions and other times it's just a drop of water in a big ocean so you either go with the flow or try harder to make waves
