I do wonder just how Tapas ranking system is weighed and how it determines where comics and novels are placed

I noticed my comic is ranked around 13-14 place in the Fantasy romance section. Which is really awesome, don't get me wrong.

But the views look kind of low for that to be possible XD. It legit makes me wonder how the rankings are conducted, and how many people actually view the community side of things for the website if my comic managed to place that highly.

There also seems to be a HUGE gap between the top 3-5 of a category to the remaining top 20.

This isn't me try to be doom or gloom about it, just something I noticed XD

As far as I can tell it depends on the activity your comic/book receives during a set period of time. It also looks like it measures the activity in proportion to the metrics already there, so a story with fewer subs/views/likes needs less of those things to move up in rank than a story with higher numbers, but the amount needed to move up would probably be around the same in percentage. Some metrics might also hold more weight than others and things like whether the story's just been updated or is new also factor in. It's why you see some stories near the top with only a handful of views. They need a lot less to get bumped up.

But this is all guesswork, so who knows really!

I agree with Vapidink , I think it’s pretty much ranked by the activity like likes/subs/views. I also think that it’s the likes and views that carry the most weight when it comes to the ranking system. But idk I’m just as much in the dark as all of you so these are all coming from a combo of observation and guesswork
