I do wonder where all the smaller webcomic reviewers went

I honestly wouldn't mind sharing my webcomic (Once I have a bit more content in it) with reviewers who post reviews on youtube ect. But there don't seem to be a ton left.

I actually was going to send my comic to Turtle + bug, but the pair retired recently. (That and I don't think my content would match their tastes much)

But besides those two, most of the other webcomic 'reviewers' just tend to be hate videos tearing down popular stories or originals for clout and views while pretending to be constructive. (You know exactly which reviewers I'm talking about.)

I am not one myself, but I volunteered Nixvir to two webcomic reviewers on YouTube, MaddMoniArt and gene99ec. I didn’t have any luck with either of them. They either ignored me or moved on and abandoned me. The latter explicitly promised he would publish a review of my work, but he never did. And that’s to name but a few. I will NEVER have any proper reviews. Why did they ignore me? Perhaps because my work is too unique.
If I recall correctly, I was called an “angry, bitter fuck” once. That is an accurate summary, considering how many mainstream comic artists I express envy for for being so much richer and more famous than ME. I would like Nixvir to be reviewed but unfortunately no one has cared enough to review it.

Yeah...I've been peeking into those circles on YouTube lately, and it's a little tiring seeing the same rants about Boyfriends and Lore Olympus and Let's Play over and over again...is anyone putting that same energy towards other popular webcomics? Or webcomics in general that they actually enjoy...?

I'm not surprised, judging by the response to my react thread. All I do is give first impressions, and I'm still a year behind. ^^;

Of course, if this interests you at all, feel free to throw your work in the ring. I've been trying to update more frequently these days...at the rate I'm going, I could get to yours by December. ^^;

I was actually thinking of starting to do this in a few months. I thought it'd be good way to give others some exposure (since tapas ain't that great with helping newbies) while gaining some of my own. I was hoping there'd be some interest here for it, though I won't be starting until nov-december cause I need to upgrade my lap top first. Testing things out I don't have the specs to record, edit, or stream yet sadly but my new computer fund is going great lol. I'm going to make a post on tapas once I'm actually capable of making the reviews.

While I can't speak for the various youtubers and other reviewers out there, I can tell you why I didn't choose your work when I did my series reviews.

For me the main issue is your artistic skill level. It feels very much like that of a beginner and there's not enough there for me to review, other than "study the fundamentals" and "study anatomy".

Know that I am not criticizing your work when I say this, or telling you your work is bad. I just wanted to give you my honest opinion on why I choose not to review Nixvir.

It's extra jarring since I don't think any of those webtoons are really that bad or anything.

But you get some youtubers making like 2-3 videos on it saying how they are morally twisted or something. It's even more jarring since a LOT of the youtubers are apparently comic artist and upload their stuff too.
