While I love working on my big epic webcomic Hollow, I needed to take a little break from it for a few days to draw something else, try out some new characters and styles and techniques, and practice my new Clip Studio skills since I've been taking a class on that for a few weeks.
It's set to "The Show Must go On" by Queen. Here's a link for anyone who wants to listen.
Normally I try and do happy endings for my comics, but I guess with everything going on in the world, I've felt a little helpless, like no matter what I do or how hard I try, I'll never be able to make anything better, and that just came out in the script for this one.
I wanted to try a lot of new stuff for this comic, to push myself and test some new skills. I haven't done a black and white comic for a while, and while I normally stick to a very grid-based panel layout, I wanted to experiment with a bit more of a free-form layout for my pages. I specifically wanted to have a non-white character, because that's a default that I find myself falling into a lot, and it was definitely working my brain a bit portraying double-lidded eyes, which is something I've never done before. And I've also never incorporated song lyrics into a comic before, and that was a tricky thing to do. I'm not sure it's entirely successful, but I don't hate it. So lots of firsts!
Anyway, just wanted to share it with people. Hope y'all like it
