Yeah, Mixam is pretty expensive! I was looking into them myself, but found out they don't do customized book sizing, and the sizes they had didn't fit the dimensions of my comic pages at all! (The joys of working traditionally, it's harder to change around the layout of your pages. Lol) I've been thinking about trying Ingram Spark since they have dimensions that fit better, and do print-on-demand, but they're also rather expensive. My last prints were with Comix Well Spring, which was the cheapest last time I used them, their quality was pretty good too imo, but they only print in bulks. So even though the books are cheaper, it's still expensive due to how their printing works. I'll definitely have to look into Imprint!
Uuuurg! I know, gotta remind myself that it'll finish eventually. I used to be pumping pages out at a reasonable pace, but since The Grind has taken over I've had to put the comic on hiatus until further notice. Still finishing pages, but it takes months to finish 1 vs. when I had the time a page would usually just take a week. It's very frustrating when you know the ending, and have everything planned out. The story is finally over halfway finished chapter-wise, but the end is juuuuust out of reach.
BTW! Been subbed to your comic for a while now, love your style and story! Seeing a printed version makes me itching to get my hands on a copy, I really like collecting printed webcomics.
Edit: Forgot to mention I also have plans to find a printer that can condense my 3 volumes into 1 hardcover book for a limited print tier of my final Kickstarter. More reason why I'm impatient to finish. Lol
