Hey guys, I know I'm just a small comic creator, but I just got my book published! I've drawn and designed the entire book and now it's real, and in my hands. And you can do it too!

Please tell me about your book, and I'll give you all the tips that helped me succeed~

Summary:

Enix Sanctum - After witnessing the brutal death of his mother, Vincent Marino makes it his life’s goal to avenge her. He heads an underground militia to hunt and kill every last human-animal hybrid (cephoid) he suspects of the crime.

Vince crosses paths with one such outcast – Dallas, an enigmatic Cephoid bounty hunter who might just have the answers he's looking for – but he won’t give them up so easily.

That’s ok, Vincent has time to kill, and he seems like a fun way to waste it. (BL)

Wow your art is really good, I'm impressed.

My book is about a girl named Texas Callaway and her bff and roommate Carter "Chili" Cruz. Chili is a professional comic artist and Texas is a college student with an interest in learning about art. He attempts to teach her how to draw but things quickly spiral out of control.

Alright, here goes. I have published on Tapas a high fantasy epic. Following its completion, I would like to have the series printed as fifteen or so volumes. The problem is that despite nearing 400 subscribers for the series, I’m scared to do it. This is because I fear it won’t be profitable enough, that I would just be left with a pointless loan I wouldn’t be able to pay back and hundreds upon hundreds of unsold books. Nevertheless all I ask is the following.

A) Which printing service would you best recommend that I use? Please keep in mind that I am British and cannot use American money even though that is default currency.

British is actually perfect because I just discovered this hidden gem of the book printing world. They are called https://imprintdigital.com/ and the amazing thing about them is that they have all the finishing you could dream of (gold foil cover, etc) AND they print NSFW content which was a big issue for me when I was searching. It's so hard to find a printer friendly with adult content. I highly recommend them! They are based in the UK.

As for your volumes, I would just say to pace yourself. Writing and drawing is a very time consuming hobby. It is very rewarding, but definitely try to make sure your goal is attainable. Maybe think in smaller chunks and achievable goals along the way. That way you don't feel like you've never reached your goal.

Please don't take out a loan though, thats a bad trap to fall into. My advice is to build your audience and funnel them into a free discord channel for your work, and from there into Patreon. Eventually you'll have the following to run a kickstarter campaign so your fans can fund your dream. Keep up the momentum!

Yes of course, it's going to be similar to the adivce I gave earlier - take your time and build your audience and funnel them into a free discord channel for your work to start. This is to get people talking, and sharing your work. Plus its a direct line of conversation with the creator and fans LOVE that.

Eventually you'll have enough people to support you on Patreon. These are your hardcore fans, this is your converting audience, people that love you and will support you. Eventually you'll have the amount of a following needed to run a kickstarter campaign so your fans can fund your dream.

As long as you have the passion, you can do it! Narrow down the one that you like the most, and start there. As you flesh out your characters the world will start to reveal itself to you, and you can let the momentum carry you through!

Hi, wow thats great! I would hope to publish my novel as well some time in the future! But as for now I am still very new and just having fun with my story. It is about two girls who become friends over a school trip in Italy and maybe even more. Lily is the main protagonist and she is very anxious but very emotionaly open and Anne is more extrovertet :) I want to write a story that has an impact on other peoples life But this is still a dream

Aw man, that's awesome! I'm excited for you, it always feels good holding you work in your hands like that. Also thanks for dropping the printer's link, I self-published the first volume of my comic ages ago, and while I'm fine with my printer I've been shopping around just to compare prices.

It probably won't happen for a looong time, but I want to print some more copies down the road. Hopefully someday I can finish my webcomic and get the last two volumes out there.

I actually really love to collect indie/self published/webcomics in physical forms if I can, and BL is a favorite genre of mine to be honest, haha. (I also love the idea of you encouraging other webcomic creators to publish their books. It's really rare I do see webcomics go to print.) Do you know where I can buy a copy of Enix Sanctum, if it's still for sale?

As for me I do also self publish my webcomic Four Corners. I have to hand sell my copies, but recently started to try also putting my book on Ingram Spark to see if that would help. Obviously self publishing is not easy, I only really make a few sales for the year, most of which are at in person events. For the readers of your book, are you primarily selling your books to your webcomic audience? Just curious to see what your method/perspective is when it comes to marketing your own book! I love to hear about that kind of stuff.
