I reached 25 subscribers, will Tapas publicize my story?

The first goal has been reached, now I need 100 subscribers to monetize, but that's not my concern, my only concern at the moment is whether Tapas will publish my story or not.

Those of you who reached the goal of 25 subscribers, is Tapas sharing your story? I honestly don't want to spend forever on this forum sharing my story.

What do you mean by publish? You can publish your story on Tapas no matter how many subscribers you have, of course. You have to publish before you can get subscribers in the first place.

Do you mean will Tapas promote your story after 25 subscribers? lol, no. They won't promote your story unless it's chosen to be premium or it's promoted in a community showcase they do occasionally (hey y'all, did you know Heartstopper exists???).

You would probably need to be big enough to appear on the front page or something.

If you are talking about being on the community page: sub count doesn't really matter. Active reads and likes of your chapters are what tend to get you onto the top in your genre on the community tab (the main homepage usually being reserved for the paid stories). Having a high subcount will help you get more likes and reads when you post but you still have to post.

As for the staff picks on the community tab, that's at any subcount. I was lucky and staff noticed my work early on and put it on the staff picks tab at around 50 subs iirc, but the sub count had nothing to do with it; someone on the team somehow stumbled across my comic, gave it a look and liked it well enough to promote it, and to have that you really have to work at quality over sub count goals.

They don't share stories usually unless they are premium works, sorry. I'm at 135 but I still have to promote myself since I'm not contracted. getting a contract at 25 subs isn't very likely.

If you're talking about a contract with Tapas, it's rare to get those outside of contests these days. You need thousands of subs and likely millions of reads.

If you're talking about getting a promotion on the front page of the community tab, that happens when the stars align and your story catches the eyes of staff. I had a front page promotion on one of my story when it was around 130 subs or so. But that's story was also in a contest and got a contract from it, so I'm not sure how it would have been seen otherwise.

Just so you are aware, even getting a promotion from Tapas is temporary. I gained a handful of subs from it and then that attention, too, died down. You will likely always be marketing your work. It's part of the game.

A lot of people publish their stories on tens of different manga and novel sites, and on all social media platforms and they are still struggling (just like we all do). An advice from me is to not write stories, only if you love writing from the bottom of your heart, because there will be days, even months, when you will be the only one to see your story, even if it's already published, because of how many other stories there are out there. So be prepared to be dissapointed. Another word of advice from me, is to just write and see where you will go with it.

And if I may add one of the revelations that came to me... the "views" that Tapas counts don't mean "reads". I think there's no way for Tapas to be sure that anyone actually reads anything they clicked on.

That's a sort of negative comfort, in that if you're you're getting views but not getting engagement (likes, comments), it could be because those viewers didn't really take time to read much at all. If you bear that in mind, you won't be deceived into thinking the engagements ought to be a lot higher (& begin wondering if there's a "message" in there about your writing).
