Hi All

I'm looking to re-haul my office and want to think out of the box and do some creative / aesthetically pleasing things.

Any ideas? I was thinking creating murals / painting on the walls? Adding in lighting etc and also adding prints everywhere?

Has anyone seen any crazy / original stuff for an office?

Cheers

Danny

Probably a cute plant, glass cat object thingies, a computer, a desk, a hot chocolate maker, and a fish tank:P

I just redid my office space and I love it. The best parts:

  • little usb fairy lights that came with tiny clips so I can print out all kinds of stuff I love and throw it on the wall
  • used some Christmas money to get some art of our characters we received printed out with frames (if money was no object I would have absolutely spent more on this) - it's ridiculously pleasant/motivating having those
  • zoned a wall with some crazy wallpaper and put a cute bookcase in front of it for all my art books and to keep some knick knacks (little rwby figures and cat plushies) and stuff like chapstick within reach from my chair without cluttering the desk
  • seems small but a coat hook so I can keep cozy hoodies available was surprisingly worth the tiny effort

Edit: Mostly thinking about nice-looking ways to reduce desk clutter makes office space a lot more pleasant/productive.

Some fancy colorful lights and something to keep my stuff in, because I'm running out of place in my room. :weary:

honestly, a standing working bench with one of those feet supportive mats under it, and a cintique. As far as decorations go, I've always been a sucker for some indoor plants to give your world some life in it.

if i could do anything to my office?... well i would have an office. :pi have no living room. its my office. (but in all seriousness. new shelves that are not on the verge of tipping fo all my manga/references, a new computer since this ones 9 years old and dying and custom made stuff of my characters to motivate me)

If I have money MONEY; I would turn my office until a forest tundra with lots of plants, fruits and MUSHROOMS. :mushroom:

Personally speaking... I won't have nor buy much stuff tbh since I'm not a person that enjoys cleaning xD And I know, the more stuff I get, the more surfaces and stuff I'll have to clean afterwards.

I think I'll have a bigger desk, and to separate it in two sections, one for traditional drawing and the other for digital. Maybe a bigger library too since I have books, journals and sketchbooks on my desk and would like to save more space, as well the desk table to be long enough to have space where to put my scanner and raise my CPU so it doesn't lie near the floor with the wires exposed.

Probably a desk table like this, the CPU would be pushed to the corner of the table as I said I don't want it near to the ground xD and no keyboard slider since it seems too low for me.

Uuugh. I'd change quite a bit about my current set-up.

For starters, I'd like an L-shaped, or even U-shaped desk set up: One flat desk for my computer (possibly a second one for my scanner), and a tilted drafting desk for my art (I do traditional page format with traditional, physical media). I'd like a better place to put my marker rack so it's not in the way, but also still easily accessible.

I'd like a freaking scanner that can handle full-color 11 x17-inch pages. I'm not even sure these exist; I've never seen one, but I'd kill to not have to scan my pages in sections and piece them together in Photoshop.

I'd like good lighting that isn't in the way. (Why are desk lamps ALWAYS in the way?)

And I'd REALLY like a good storage/archive system for my old sketchbooks and portfolios, so I can find old art and concept sketches and reference doodles easily.

Also a mini fridge with snacks and drinks. Let's be honest.

The best adition for my creative space was a moveable screen holder. This gave me so much space and I can just ajust the screen, wherever I need it to be. I have an L-shaped table.

If it's one thing i'd love to have: a new, super confy chair and one of those super awesome artist-tables where you can sit and stand. Also the one I liked has a see trough plate with a lightbox underneath and neat storage places. But jeah, stuffs expensive.
