It depends. It comes in bursts. Dont even count.

Sometimes I get a lot of writing done, sometimes none at all.

More seriously, it doesn't matter to me how many words I write per day because what matters is the words that end up in the finished story. Everything written on one day might eventually be scrapped as unnecessary or replaced with a better vision for the same scene, chapter, etc.

Maybe there's not a single good answer to the question as phrased. It seems to mean as a continuous effort, & I think the number of words one can hammer out in each day probably won't depend on the finished length.

The thing is, if I have a good idea of what to write and a good knowledge of the different things I need to write about, I can write 10k words in a day. But time dedicated to writing is not only for the writing itself, it also involves reading and learning about some subject, looking up references, planning, etc. Typing words is only the final stage. And that's not counting any type of editing.
That's usually how it works for me.

It really depends on the day.
Sometimes I can only manage a few hundred words and then there are days when I've written up to 10,000 in a day.
Just go with the flow. Don't force yourself to write a certain amount to hit a word count. It's never as good that way.
