If your comic were to theoretically get turned into another medium (show/movie/game etc) what would it be like?

Anime movie would be best-- just how i picture my comic to be (produced by japanese animation studio) I'll even allow them to tweak the character designs into more cartoonish to their taste. It's never going to be in cinemas due to the very niche genre i have, so online streaming full length movie or turn it into mini-series of 40-min episodes. Advertise it as an indie art-house title.

Best Case Scenario: A limited series of 5 episodes, about an hour long each, either animated or live-action would be cool.

At Minimum: A film about two and a half hours long, animated.

I prefer my comic to be an animated series because intentionally, my comic is going to be long with many chapters to come.

I am not sure about a live adaptation, you would hope to get the best producers, filmmakers, directors, and actors/actresses to do it right and hope to god they didn't add in their political agenda in your series like what amazon did to the ring of power.

As for a video game, considering I like to make so much exposition with lore and faction, it might end up being a strategy game. I might give the license to Creative Assembly to have a total war feel to it.

What makes me panic the most is the execution, that's the scary part if we didn't give our content to the right people to animate a series, make a live adaptation or video games.

I'd love for my series to get an anime adaption. It'll most likely be a seasonal type of series like My Hero Academia, where each season covers a story arc. I imagine it being similar to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to where scenes play around with color palettes depending on the mood, and the art style leaving room for amazing, fluid action scenes like in Mob Psycho 100.

My comic's work flow is pretty slow, being able to only produce a 15-20 page chapter every 2-3 months, so I don't have the luxury to spend too much time on certain scenes nor other scenes that "detours" the main plot. With an anime adaption, I'd ideally want to utilize the medium to make up for that with the inclusion of extended scenes and character-building episodes.

I'd by lying if I didn't imagine mine is a full-length motion picture (dang, I sound pretentious- but they're so magical sounding that way).

An animated series (a la She-Ra) would be incredible. It's always amazing to get more time with the characters and experiencing all of their little moments- but I also love the tight timing of a 1 and a half/2 hour movie. I love the thrills and the tension of a quicker format (and hopefully sequels can build on the various arcs).

I never thought I'd be that person, but when I had kids (and a day job, and a comic, and other responsibilities), my schedule is just getting so tight that I got super picky about what entertainment I consume during my limited time. The shorter the content, the better. It's a real challenge for me to be succinct too, but it's definitely something that I've been working towards.

A 16-Bit era looking action adventure game with a single player tag-team function (Artemis is more a shooter/blaster, Penny more of an aggressive beater) in which you can (for limited bursts) become Monkey Bunny and do double jumps and make shields. I'm imagining a fast-paced Sonic type game with a similar level layout to Sonic 2.

In my next life, I'll become a ROM-Hacker/video game programmer (so I can make this happen).

Even though I have a novel I would like to join in. Say if I got a comic done/being made I would then go after an animated tv series. I feel like there would be more freedom with the visual with the moon environment and the creatures on it rather than relying heavily on CGI in a realistic setting, plus characters and fights would seem smoother (IDK animation is my strong suit). Plus while there could be a risk of canceling it you would get more time to fit in all important parts of the story so it flows nicely where as in a movie you could have pieces get cut out.

It'll be a new series (but following directly from where the old one leaves off as it finishes in May).

I want to see if I could pull of the old trick of grabbing new readers with a new series/ new entry point (so they won't need to know about Monkey Bunny), while also not slowing the story down for readers of Monkey Bunny (so for them, it'll feel like Chapter 11).

But overall, I just wanted a new issue #1 (or episode #1) without having to go back and redraw it/tweak the writing. I want it to be filled with my storytelling/art learnings form the past year of publishing (and three years fo content creating in the shadows). I kinda like having Monkey Bunny as a little story-telling experiment and Rabbit! Rabbit! Day as more a senior thesis.

But thanks for keeping with it and for your continued support! It really means a lot to me.

But tbh, I'm completely unsure, I think it would be best as a movie or maybe like a series which every episode ends in a cliffhanger, if it was movie it be a single movie, no matter how much money I would make out of it I would never make a sequel, never, and a series it might be many seasons cos at least for the comic I have planned to make a second season cos I already have the last episode of season 1 completely planned in my head and if I ended the series there I would get so many death threats from my subscribers lmao, but yea thank you for bringing this up its something I've never thought about!

Honestly, I'd love to see my comic being turned into an anime series. I believe it would last between 3 or 4 seasons and then end. Each season would have something like 25 episodes, probably and a total of 65 (or even more). It would have a similar vibe to AoT and FMA for the darker moments, and a more Jojo vibe during combat. In terms of animation studio, I'd love to see either David Production or Wit animate it, since they're really good at action-packed series, or even Production I.G..

I also believe an rpg or fighting game would be a perfect fit for the series, or even something similar to Zelda botw, with an open world and lots of quests that tie to the story.

I'm of two minds with mine, and which medium I went with would depend more on whether I wanted to showcase the 'small' aspects of the story (characters' long term arcs and relationships), or the 'big' aspects (sweeping landscapes, big special effects, and 'epic tale of adventure' vibe).

The 'small' format would be best suited for an animated series. Something with a 'less cartoony' style (my brain jumps to the 90s Carmen Sandiego series, instead of something like Powerpuff Girls, for example), with loving attention paid to plot twists and individual character arcs.

The 'big' format.... GOD I'd love to see this made as a series of big-budget movies a la Lord of the Rings. There's an extended magic battle scene that'll come up in the last chapter that would just be SO incredible to see with every special effect Hollywood could cram into it.

Ooo that's an interesting question! Personally, I would like my comic to become an animated series. Since it's going to have three arcs, I can see it having three seasons with each episode being around 10-15 minutes depending on what's happening in each episode. I would like to see it done in a similar fashion to the anime series 'Demon Slayer'.

The art style of my comic might be adjusted for a series but I wouldn't mind, and the show would be rated for teens as there will be fight scenes and blood, but it won't be too graphic to be considered an adult series.

I think most of my series would make great settings for video games:

-Long, meandering plots that can easily translate to several hours of play and sidequests
-Lots of fun characters and dialogue interactions
-Unique environments
-Dynamic MCs with interesting abilities

I think one of the biggest challenges a game director has to face is generating content. You need a general directive, yes, and then you need the gameplay itself to function well, but after that it's just coming up with additional * things * to engage and entertain the player.

And I am great at coming up with * things *. ^^ In general I have way more * things * than I have story for any given project...if someone were to come to me right now and say 'let's turn [insert comic] into a video game, what material do you have?' I could say 'here's the 30-page script...AND, here's 90 pages of extra material with notes on how the world works, and little snatches of dialogue that I liked a lot but didn't make the final draft, and if you'll give me a few hours I can gather up all the concept art!'
