Are they a lot like their siblings? Are their siblings relevant? Do they like their siblings, dislike them, are they just neutral?

I'll start with the male lead of my new romance novel "A Dozen Morning Glories." Dominic is a lot like his sisters in several ways. They all grew up together, so they share a lot of memories, understand each other's triggers and sensitivities pretty well (tho not perfectly) and he still spends a lot of time with them. They've all experienced colorism for being brown when their family valued fair skin, and they deal with these things differently. Dominic and his little sister Cocoa like cooking together and making origami together. She's his number one best friend, and Honey (his older sister) is his other best friend. He has other friends outside of his siblings, but they still understand him the best. He likes his little brother Ben a lot too, but he's not particularly close with him. They do hang out weekly at their book club, and they talk, but there not as close as Dominic is with his sisters. This might partly just be because Ben is a lot quieter and more private than the other three siblings as well.

My comic hasn’t quite gotten to the first scene with the MC’s brother, but it’s pretty close.
Ian and his brother, Daevon, used to be much closer when they were younger, but they’ve grown apart in the last few years. This is mainly because of Ian distancing himself purposely and because of his brother’s responsibilities as king. When they were younger Ian was the more adventurous and outgoing sibling, while Daevon was shy and reclusive. But after their father died and Daevon became king, he became more outgoing to suit his job. Ian on the other hand became more closed up. Both of them have changed and don’t know how to be friends again like they once were. While Daevon tries to persue a better relationship between them, Ian runs away from it.

in ToV Ozwald is the middle child of five siblings in order they are:

Talo: He is physically stronger than Ozwald, his hair is cut short, and his relationship to Ozwald they are the pair of brothers whose love language is being at each other's throats, Talo does like Ozwald but he wants Ozwald to stand for himself more but, he was the first to object when Higen told everyone that Ozwald had to go with him showing that in fact he care for his little brother a lot.

Malika: she is Ozwald and the twins' mother figure after their actual mother passed away, something that makes her stand out is her hair length it reaches her knees, and according to Ozwald "she hadn't cut it since I was 8 (he is 17 now) she will try to advocate for talking instead of fighting unless someone is messing with his little brothers in which case she will hit someones heads to the floor.

Loran and Kelvin: the Twins, they are just a fun pair they are a handful, Ozwald is the one who tends to look after them when Malika is busy, they like Ozwald and Ozwald often convinces them to help him mess with Talo, but they also try to get Ozwald from time to time too, being twins they keep their hair in the same style and try to dress similar which is not difficult and their dad saves a ton just buying two sets of the same clothing, Kelving is a little bit of a scaredy cat but Loran is helping him to be more brave.

Well, all snowmen to some extent consider themselves related. They consider Lord Nix as their Father, which makes sense consider that he was the one who gave them life in the first place, but they're not really related to him at all because gods do NOT have DNA.

I'm not sure how much twins really try to do this lol

My MC, Eli, has an older brother who takes care of him since his mom works all the time. While he loves him a lot, his brother can be a bit overprotective. Especially since Eli has a history of being bullied. This hopefully won't cause him too much trouble. (At least as little trouble as having a sibling as a teacher can get you.)

I realized only after drawing Dominic and Cocoa both that he looks a whole lot like the one of his siblings who he's closest with. Cocoa is his best friend, and just look at the two of them

They are also the brownest members of their family (though I didn't shade their complexions in these sketches)

It might be a subtle psychological connection...

Alicia's little brother is the sweetest angel on planet earth. He loves everyone unless he has a reason not too and he stubbornly chooses to believe that Alicia is an angel, despite all the things she's done. All he really wants is for everyone he loves to be happy, but unfortunately this has led to Alicia lying to him or keeping secrets for quite some time to try to protect him from the reality of just how poorly she's doing.

“You two were in an accident?!” Andrew’s voice is a mixture of panic and disbelief as I put the phone to my ear. “When? Are you still in the hospital?”

My head is already spinning as I cringe, trying to refind my voice in the silence. I can hear Jinho’s voice, rambling harsh, worried, sentence fragments in rapid Spanish-

“Que paso? Andrew- calmate- calmate - Dios-!”

“‘-Licia?”

“Not- not just now - we’re out of the hospital…”

It…

“It was three months ago.”

Andrew gets really quiet really fast. Like trapping a hurricane in a box - the sudden silence is anything but reassuring - as the phone trembles nervously in the disquiet - I hear Jinho fretting-

“Andrew- Andrew sit down-”

Is he breathing?

What I wouldn’t give to be able to reach through the phone and assure him-

I’m alive at the very least.

I’m not sure he doesn’t believe this is some sort of message from the next life-

When his voice returns it’s just the ghost of a whisper-

“You waited 3 months to tell me you were in a crash?”

For Apparent Secrets, here are the roommates' siblings:

  • Iris: She has a younger sister, Lily, who doesn't much care for Iris. The reasons are explored in the story, but suffice it to say that Lily despises her older sister. They're barely on speaking terms, unless Lily wants something.

  • Zayzann: Zayzann has no siblings, but he was the smallest of his season's "clutch" in the village he grew up in. The neighbor Paxoram fledglings gave him no end of grief, except for his one friend, Tarenn. She's been devoted and friendly towards Zayzann since they were fledglings.

  • Byxx: He's an only child, but he likes being a mentor to both young guild-mates and peers. Humans often find his appearance repellent (he has "demonic" features, for lack of a better term), but friends find him amiable and patient.

  • Khazmine: Khazmine's older sister, Ruby, passed away on the streets of Old Sarzonn during a bout of disease that ravaged the slums. Since then, Khazmine had found and raised two similarly orphaned boys off the streets and helped raise them as her "little brothers." Though not the same race as Khazmine, she insists on their "family resemblance."

this is horrible, poor Khazmine

Ace & Mona:
Mona is a single working mother and Ace helps out taking care of his nephew.

Bertie & Zap:
They are both clones so they feel kinship with that.

Dai & Nite:
Nite hasn't appeared in this series but appeared in Crow's Worth. They are twins who get on each others nerves and they hate each other.

Zombra & several brothers:
One of his brothers (Ted) was briefly mentioned in Ch 4, Bertie mentioned how he disturbed his uncle. He has another brother named Sky who briefly appeared in another comic I made. There is a 3rd brother (not mentioned) which I am probably not going to include any time soon due to the current political climate. But I might also switch him to being something else like a childhood friend/neighbor.

Since the main character is based on me, I think their siblings would be like mine. Aka, her and the oldest one would be really close, always watching the same shows together, doing art together, etc. But them and the middle sister wouldn't necessarily hate each other, but would be way less close and see each other a lot less.

Mora doesn't exactly have siblings, but there is a boy her age that she lives with at her harbor home. He's very nice, but mostly quiet. He keeps to himself unless prompted to do otherwise, but not out of malice.

(my new series debuts this month!)

Alicia and Andrew's mother and father both have sisters. Alicia's Tia Maria is a sweet, but overworked woman who raised her when her mother lost custody. She loves Alicia, but had very little time for her since she worked two jobs to provide for herself, Alicia and Alicia's cousin Natividad.

Their Aunt Bella was quite different. She was an at home mother who raised Andrew for basically half his childhood. She doted on him and had lots of time to give him attention and care, so he grew up feeling like he had two parents, even though one of them was technically his father's little sister.

Then there is Tia Miguelina

I hate everyone, and I wish they were still here.

Maybe then we could have worked something out.

Not with Tia Miguelina. She’s still here - because only the good die young.

Oh my MC/OC has a sibling- you'll find out soon enough what they are like...

Meanwhile there is Melanye and Marcus Shaw, that live across the street from Ray. Marcus is the oldest- about 2 grades above Ray & Melanye.

Nikki has an older sister. She's kind of weathered, like an old outside chair that's been out there too long. She's seen everything and rolls her eyes at her brother, who is the definition of everything as a goth circus drag queen. She runs a preschool in a semi-rural town that serves three surrounding towns. She's very accepting of LGBTQ things, but she's the sort of person who you never know what's on her mind otherwise. She'd not exactly the warmest person. She serves as "the straight man" to Nikki's wackiness.

Big bro

Little sister

Steve is much more confident and extra than his little sister and tries to encourage her to be more outgoing and self-assured

My graphic novel is littered with siblings. The two main protagonists are adopted siblings. Ones a thoughtful introvert and the other is inclined towards impulsive action.

The two secondary characters are siblings. One is the Monkey king of China (he's a variation of Sun WuKong who's kinda having a moment now with the video game, although from what I've heard of the game, he seems to lack the mischievous nature I appreciate in the original character) and his brother Vincent who's an accountant.

and finally the the two dogs that the main protagonists own are brothers. For the most part, they kinda function as one dog. They're the Greek chorus of the story.
