Hi! I'm 36 years old working as a E-Commerce Web Designer/Shipper combo for 2 years now. Luckily, even though I graduated in animation in my early 20's, the course did touch a lot of other art related fields that gave me enough skills to jump from one job to another. I'm very happy to say, that I only had to jump into customer service a few brief times in my career so far.
I moved away for years working as a graphic artist in publishing, and it took most of my time. I really had terrible hours, no stat holidays off and kept me poor enough that I was stuck. So, when I got laid off, I got a job that moved me back to my roots. However, managing a social life now, is a challenge, as I didn't have to do it for years.
It's either they're all mad at me that I don't spend enough time with them or that they're happy, but I get nothing done. I tend to do conventions/festivals in the area annually, so juggling everything is tricky. I had to start creating a calendar to schedule work/social/personal art. It was unmanageable without it.
Megami Shiizun is my baby. I've been developing it since High School. Started to officially produce the comic 6 years ago? I work solo and try to annually print a comic book. This year has been tough to work on Chapter 5, as most people may not be working during these unprecedented times, But, I've been pulled from web design to only work on online shipping, because we've been hit very hard with orders and I'm exhausted all the time!!!!! I just don't have the energy to do anything after work.
Until it stabilizes and I get 2 days off a week again, I don't see any artwork getting done.
