I'm 51 years old and work 45 hours/week as an auto mechanic. I used to draw a lot, but for some reason I stopped drawing in the late 90's. I decided to start again in 2022. I simply don't have the time to do a full-on webcomic, so instead I wrote a couple of books, and I'm doing illustrations for them as I publish them as webnovels on Tapas. At first, and on my first book, it was an image every few pages, but toward the end of that one I was doing an image for every update. For my current series I do an image for every update as well.
I like to think that I've improved a LOT in the nine months that I've been drawing again. It's not so much that I became more talented, it's more that I'm figuring out how to use the drawing program (Krita).
For example, here is an early image from my first story, Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days:
...And here is the last image from that series, when the main character (me) gets married. You can see the improvement (or, at least I hope you can):
