I opened a similar thread earlier this year and got plenty of awesome requests. After being away from this community for several months, I decided I'd end this hiatus by doing something fun and interactive with you all!

So without further ado, let's see some of your beautiful characters (or ugly, I'm not picky). I'll do my best to draw them in either my "comfort" style, or something else that I decide on a whim to try. You can even do some shameless self-promotion here and I might check out your comic or novel if it seems cool.

Here's some criteria:

1. I would like at least one reference image of your character (preferably more, but it isn't required).
2. I would like to know a bit about your character's personality and background (you can make it a brief one sentence thing, or an entire novel. I'll read it all).
3. Optionally, tell me a bit about the world your character is from.

Here's Smokestack or Smokey from my comic All Broken Gods

Smokey usually is very shy around people, quiet and rarely talks letting their friends speak for them. Usually if they're alone with someone or doing something they extremely enjoy, such as fighting, they become more open and act sassy and cutesy. Smokey always wears grayish or pale colored loose fitting clothing and a flower in their hair.

Here's my main girl and her dog (dunno how you feel about drawing animals lol) from my novel, The Widow, Her Dog, and the Dead. I... haven't put out any chapters yet, but some test art was made by my talented partner for the main two~

To give a little background, Wynona and Dusty brave the world of the undead alone together. Wynona herself, suppresses a lot emotions brought by the memories of her deceased husband and son. While her emotions aren't expressed on her face, she expresses a lot more in her own thoughts. She prefers using a small survival knife and is not opposed to trying out a hatchet. Dusty.. is Dusty. In their time isolated from the world, she's been teaching him many speechless commands for dealing with the dead, protecting a place, using strategies for getting out of tough situations, etc... And uhh yeah, in the calmness of their home, he's very relaxed and friendly. They stick together after the rest of their family's gone.

Superhero Alpaca WIP

He's heroic and kind, but a bit of a showboater and has a small ego. He's got super strength, speed, flight, static build up, weather control, and Atomic hurricane Breath.

Can't wait to see what you do with him!

Here's my precious son, Drew! He's an awkward kid, absolutely brimming with anxiety. But he's sweet, even if he doesn't really have the confidence to do anything good for others. It's not featured in the comic yet, so you dont have to draw it, but his shadow acts as a kind of "familiar" that can manifest itself by him and give him advice, although it's a little more malevolent.

hello! i love this idea so much! i hope you don't mind me putting my character here.

this is the only ref pic i have, which is a commission done by my friend

this is Miguel Praxedes, a 30 year old man who owns a relatively new cafe. he's gentle, soft-spoken, and easily flustered, and strives for the success of his establishment. however, sometimes he can get a bit sarcastic, or dismissive, especially when it reminds him of things in his past..

Aw, thanks! She looks fantastic! Never thought I'd see her with big anime-styled eyes lol and I dunno why but the way you drew her nose caught my attention. Nothing bad, just like.. "Huh, I never focus on noses, do I?" The fact you did that to me is interesting xD but yeah! Thanks again for drawing her!

Yeah I have several approaches to drawing noses. I find that noses are among some of the most unique features of any face. Even people who are related can have wildly different nose shapes. When cartooning, a nose can tell you a lot about a character as well (villains tend to have slender, jagged noses while heroes have broad, curved noses)

Sure, can you tell me anything about him?

Sure! He's a fairy and he spent fourteen of his 20 years locked in a tower because his ancestors were evil going all the way back! The woman who saved his life and who rescued him from the same fate as his parents who were executed spends her time teaching him social skills to make sure he doesn't go down the same evil path as his ancestors!

As for his personality, he's very well mannered and pretty spineless and a little shy from only knowing one person all his life! He constantly worried that there's evil buried deep down in his soul like there was for all his ancestors, too! I think that's really all there is to know about him~!
