Apple can go take a long walk off a short gangplank for all I care.
As long as the site is accessible through a browser, nobody really needs the app specifically from their store. They're trying to be a platform rather than a store, but also trying to avoid the responsibilities of actually being a platform.
As much as I've come to enjoy Apple's computers, especially for my creative work, I've come to resent, at least as much, their attempts at controlling expression and censoring creators through what they surely see as a near-monopoly that they think gives them carte blanche to silence whatever expression they want.
If they have a problem with my comics, or anything I do, they can take it up with me directly. And they will receive exactly the same response as I will give to anyone telling me to change it:
No. That's not happening. You're not paying me a cent, and even if you were, you should have made yourself more familiar with my work, my philosophy, and my life before trying to buy me into silence. No price is enough to ask me to accept oppression. Especially now, with so many companies thinking that they can just demand people only create things they like, it is more important than ever for creators to stick to their ideals.
And that means especially creators who are more adult-oriented and accepting of mature content.
I'm not going to hack away at my work and turn it into something it was never intended to be, so that on the off chance I might have those series returned to the Apple store, so they can profit indirectly off my work.
Their mistake, their loss. Bye, Apple. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
