No, for that particular series, we weren't able to acquire the global digital distribution rights from the original publisher.
Thanks! I hope things work out too.
I'm not entirely sue if black bars is an adequate enough way to censor a series for Apple at this point.
For younger audiences, it's difficult. We are an open platform and are host to a lot of mature series. I would 100% recommend uploading your works on a personal site where you're able to control the entire experience, and can monitor what kind of ads (if you serve ads) are served. That's probably the best way to establish a strong relationship with younger readers + their guardians.
Android app is age rated at 13+ and I believe that certain keywords are not searchable. This should not be impacting top charts though.
Yes, we do have a contingency plan that we're still in the process of developing now. I can't really disclose too much information about it, but we hope to help support more mature works outside of the app.
Yes, we will have a similar feature to that to help readers still gain access to mature series.
We haven't sent out any emails yet - this will be an ongoing process. Like @Rodimus13 stated, we're still waiting on approvals from Apple before sending out any type of correspondence with our creators.
Thanks for the kind words, very much appreciated.
Yes - they have a "shell app" for their mature works; which is basically just their mobile web version that you can save onto your homescreen of your device. Our mobile web version will still have full access to all mature works. So yes, very similar in terms of functionality.
Absolutely. We want to tell stories that feel true to life. Stories are SUCH a powerful tool to help people empathize. And the real world we live in is a mature place. Creators should have the freedom to reflect that.
