Hey guys and gals,

There are plenty of new people in the forum, and folks who have been around a while as well. So I thought it might be good to make a thread where people can brainstorm what they want to do for inks giving. You can ask advice or sanity check your reward ideas to see fi they are too ambitious (or if you set the bar too low!)

But as always, check to see if michael son has already answered your questions here

And if you don't have ink unlocked yet, make sure to follow his directions to get it unlocked ASAP. It's worth it, if nothing else cause it means your fans can show you the love.

I'll post our idea later.

Here is my first event.

Well one of. Y comics will be on hiatus during inksgiving, and the other one is just starting out, so I haven’t given any thought into rewards.
I have however just bought a good amount of ink to give tho others, and will be watching some videos up until the time to add a couple more drops to the bucket.

Extra chapters is one I'm going to do for sure but I also thought about sharing my pinterest boards of my novels. As "tiers" I've been thinking 500, 1000, 2500 and 7000 with the last two being extra chapters. But I don't know if they are well spread out, too high or low, or if the rewarss are interesting enough for them ;-;

I did 1K, 3K, 6K, 10K, and 15K last time.... and it turned out I shot too low. We hit the goal in like... 12 hours. And this event is 48.

We are going to do one every 9K with a stretch goal of another 10K for a special full ep. The special ep will be determined by the comic with the most likes and comments on it will be made from a 4 panel to a full25 panel update

Yeah I reached 10k last time but that was mainly thanks to one or two people.
But yeah I think I should probably start from 1k.
I was also thinking of having like 15k or some bigger goal for "spicy" episode but I don't know.

I'm excited, this will be my first inksgiving, my support got unlocked yesterday and I'm already saving ink! Hopefully by the time of the event my main comic won't be on hiatus anymore :hype_01:

But I have no idea if I should make any kind of goals/rewards since the comic I'll be updating doesn't have that many readers and has been on hiatus for a while, or if I'll just donate ink to other creators

Inkgiving is a good way to get a little more Subscribes. Just be active and learn from others that has trieds this before so you can do it great next time the Inkgiving comes. You can also go back here in forum and look at the old thread from the last Inkgivings.

I'm in the same position than for the spring Inksgiving: I'd like to participate as a creator and as an ink giver, however because my comic is so small, I am not going to set goals etc.

My idea at this point is to draw two illustrations (or, actually, two small sets of illustrations), one asking for ink, the other thanking for any ink obtained, but instead of being simply that, it can be read as a mini-story, that could actually be part of the comic (a sort of extra).
Good idea? Anyone did that?

I got support unlocked but I think my comic is a little too small to start playing with goals. I'll do an episode promoting the event and to get people to notice I have support avaliable now, but not sure what else could be nice to do - maybe something like my subscriber cards with chibi versions of the main characters.

edit: wait, you can't reply to support with pictures, it's text only. Hmm, I might have to think of a single episode for a goal then, I wish I could just send a little sketch but imgur links as replies would be too weird.

This is my first inksgiving and I'm relatively new to Tapas, so I'm not sure what I'll do or how high of goals I can set. I'm kind of lurking to see what other people are doing and see if I can find some inspiration.
At the moment, since I have a lot of buffer right now and can do it, maybe unlocking extra episodes depending how much ink I can collect? Or maybe something to do with voting for ideas for new illustrations, or getting yourself a future cameo if you donate enough ink.
I have no idea.

with the subs you have I think you could prob get 30K ink....thats about what I got last time.

And unlacing eps for yah ink increment goal is a great way to do it! Or draw some bonus stuff (like we will)

This is my second Inksgiving this year, so I think I'll aim for a larger goal considering I actually surprisingly surpassed my original tiny goal. I think maybe I'll take a page from @Rodimus13's book and make mini comics for each goal I hit. Though probably focused on DRAGOONS: Days & Knights with maybe an EGT or Alpha Alpaca comic in there somewhere for some milestones.

Same! I'm new (and definitely lurking!). That's a good idea about voting for illustrations. I'm thinking along the same lines. I'm a writer with a short stories series (about falling in love! I'm a hopeless romantic lol), so maybe I could take votes for the next short story idea. Or take prompts from the comments and then write them, but I haven't gotten a comment yet, so I think that's reaching just a bit too far. More than likely, I'll do nothing haha.

I do have some ink saved up though, so I plan on giving it to a few of my faves. I didn't know there was an event like this, so I'm glad I saved.

I juggled with my goals and for now it looks like this. Would appreciate opinions

1k pinterest board for Alone in the Night
2k pinterest board for Baby, I love you (my 'coming soon' novel, will be up by the time of inksgiving)
4k next chapter (or maybe two) early
9k special story
18k "spicy special story" (I'm not sure about this one but I guess it having it there won't do anything bad. maybe goal could be 20k? not sure)

I think that's a good high end goal. I only know this from Patreon, but a lot of my favorite artists and writers charge extra for the 'spicy' content, and from what I can see, it works very well lol.

I might try to aim for about that amount, then; and even if it's a little on the high end, it's better to aim too high than to aim to low and have nothing to offer, maybe?

For the bonus stuff, how long after Inksgiving do you think people expect that bonus content? I would want to maybe do both bonus content and unlocking extra episodes, but I also tend to be a little slow and my life is hectic right now, so I don't want to disappoint people by taking too long to deliver. :cry_01:

@Kaylim
If you decide to do something, maybe you could put together a list of prompts and have people vote for their favorite ones?
But yeah, it's definitely a fun event from the sound of it! I learned about it from reading people's comics and seeing their Inksgiving announcements and whatnot--so it got me excited for when the next formal Inksgiving would come around.

That's a good idea! Also, I just checked out your comic - it's beautiful! I am in awe of your skill with markers.
