Thoughts and feelings about this? lol
Tapas skipped out on Inksgiving last year. We expected it in November, as always. It didn't happen.
Now it's moved to... April? Which is a very weird time. I feel like tons of readers are still in school, and right after spring break is seemingly the busiest time of the school year (for teachers and students alike.) I feel like it's a weird month to choose over November when the winter holidays are starting, and everyone is at home.

I guess we shall see how the turnout is next month. If it's the same as any Inksgiving, then I got nothing to complain about. xD

I wouldn't say Tapas skipped for no good reason, though. It's been said that the vibes at that time last year were just off compared to the prior years (when we were still being affected by COVID and participation was at an all time high). I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision, especially knowing the backlash and bullying staff would receive.

We were told it was postponed, too. We knew it would come eventually lol.

@Calculus_Homework From what I can remember, I'm pretty sure Tapas has done Springiving before, though I could be wrong. It's unfortunate that they had to postpone, but for me I expect the event to occur two times a year. Maybe they're not doing that anymore.

I didn't hear anything about the postponing until the day before when it would usually happen--and that was from another creator, not the staff. I had to come to the forums and ask about it because I felt like I missed something. lol
Did they send out emails? Or was there an inbox notification that I missed?

Ohhhh. Okay. That's interesting. I've been on here for 4 years as a creator, but I'm probably not on the ball as much as others with finding out this info. Thanks for that info!

For me it was that someone mentioned in a previous thread that there was a soft announcement from staff that it would be postponed for a little bit. Let me see if I can find that thread….

Edit: ok yeah here take a look.

Inktersolstice was kind of a holdover until the official inksgiving came around. And @Crusoe and I held some ink games and lotteries as well to hold everyone over (and purely cause it was fun as heck )

Oh yep! That was super fun! Might to a similar thing with inksgiving this year if I can find the time

But yeah, I remember that inksgiving would be coming right off the heels or coinciding with the big competition Tapas was hosting at the time so the decision makes sense. I agree with you that the timing now is not ideal either but we'll have to wait and see! Maybe I'll be eating my words. :sweat_01:

It was in the Discord. It was announced months in advance that it would be postponed. I recommend going there to rely on announcements since they don't really do that on the Forums anymore (they announce other events and job openings there, too)

Ah, okay. Thank you! I kept thinking Discord was more for readers. But like you're saying, they've got a lot of announcements on there I should pay attention to. xD

Whoa. Trying to use their official link to get on the Discord, but it's broken. Is there any way to get around that? (I don't know much about discord, so I'm assuming the link has expired or something.)
