Introvert, Extrovert or Ambivert?

I used to be super shy (like ridiculously so), but my current job kinda forced me to get over that. The only downside is that, since I spend all day talking to customers, when I get home I often just want to lie in bed and watch a movie and not talk to anyone for the rest of the night! So I guess still an introvert at heart.

Shyness can really be solved by having the right people as friends - the ones who won't judge you or keep asking you what's wrong if you're not constantly talkative. @keii4ii clarified it very well!

Extreme introvert, but because I live in America and wanted to be a musician I had to learn how to put on that extrovert mask. I feel like I can fake it very well now, but it's still a lie and not me at all. The majority of people I meet are wonderful people, but being around more than one person for any length of time wears me out something fierce!

I think by now I'm an ambivert... But as a kid I was an extreme extrovert, then I got really sick so I was forced to be an introvert and just sit back and listen for years. Being in the middle is the most comfortable though. Not sure if anyone else is all over the place like that too, but I have a feeling as a person I will shift depending on where I'm at in life. I never could pinpoint myself in the introvert and extrovert tests.

Oh, man. Especially if people want to talk to you during breaks, set ups or tear downs. Clubs and places are always so loud. Though it is fun to laugh in people's faces when they ask if I want to go out on one of the few, free Friday or Saturday nights I have.

I would say that I'm introverted. I've never really heard of an ambivert before. I can tolerate being around people to a point, but I always need a bit of a reprieve by myself after a while.

I'm most definitely an ambivert ahah. I like talking to people but at the same time I also like my silence. I guess it honestly depends on who I'm with. For example, if I'm with my best friends, I'll be really loud and stuff. However, if I'm in a group full of people I don't know, I'll try to make conversation but I'll mostly be quiet.

I can relate to this, but kind of backwards. I've always been a quiet person, so I've always been more than happy to just sit at the back and listen, and I'm comfortable being by myself for extended periods. But at the same time, I also realised that I revel in being one of the most "popular" people in a large groups of friends, and have many times enjoyed being life of the party. It does get too much though sometimes, if you're constantly either too extroverted or introverted. ie. Balance is a good thing.

The thought of that terrifies me, lol.

After living in Japan for 5 years, I can almost say that it's an introvert's paradise -- at least in Tokyo and many other places that isn't Kansai. People don't make small talk with strangers, always keep to themselves and a packed train during rush hour will be as quiet as anything except for the sound of the tracks, faint music from someone's earphones and some coughs and sniffs here and there. Sometimes you get the occasional students or old ladies chit chatting. The friends I made at school and work almost always mind their own business and go home after the day ends. Nobody pries or discloses their personal life info easily. Hardly any hugging, touching or entering acquaintances' personal space without permission. Shit, I've only seen ONE public display of affection so far XD

Oh man, I fear I might have gotten a little too used to this kind of silent environment.

Haha, that reminds me, I was visiting my mom's family in Japan for the summer (I'm half) and when I was saying my goodbyes, I hugged my cousin and he got soo embarrassed lol. I must seem like such a typical American there, even though here in America, everyone says I'm so shy lol.

Mostly an introvert - I don't talk a lot (because I don't find a lot to say most of the time) and being around people for longer amounts of time wear me out. I don't mind getting a bunch of (positive) attention though - as long as I don't have to actually say anything or interact with people a lot, haha.

It's a social mess out here. I can't even begin to explain LOL it's a constant competition even if you don't care at all

I stick to my four or so good friends and some family. Most of the people I know otherwise are complete... well... there are many words we repurposed to describe them. From a donkey, to a female dog, to the acronym of "Fornication Under Coronary Knowledge", to not knowing their father, even to genitalia. Yeah I'm introverted ^sigh^.

Definitely introverted, can't be bothered to do too much social interactions XD. Mostly if I make a lot of social interactions in a day, say I hang out with friends or something I just come home completely exhausted and it's not even like a physical exhaustion it's more like mentally tired.

I took an MBTI test recently and it said I'm 82% Introvert.
