Hmmm, I wouldn't say there's a honeymoon phase, at least for me.
The passion and love for art never goes away. But there are sometimes I have to take a break. It can be that my back is kinda cramping up and I need to stretch more. It can be that the panels/story-boarding I'm doing just aren't working out. Or, it could be that I'm just not mentally there to draw.
In those moments, I pull away and let my brain rest from art/comics. Instead, I focus on other things like reading, music, talking with friends. And when I do go back to my work, I see it with a fresh pair of eyes.
I personally believe when you spend too much time on something (be it work, hobby, anything), you become drained, and that burnout can cause you to dislike it even if you do truly love what you do.
It's why it's so important to have other hobbies you enjoy and to take breaks. Because even if we say we want to draw 24/7 -- most of us don't really mean that 110%. We need breaks, we need moments away from them.
It's not to say you're growing to dislike your craft. I argue that you're acknowledging that you can't always focus on it. It's normal.
