Is clip studio paint good?

I just brought clip studio paint for a really cheap price hehe

but Im wondering how do you guys like it compared to other programs.

And how long did it take you learn it also.....

I've worked with Clip Studio for almost a year, after switching from Paint Tool SAI. It took me about a month or so to learn it, though I had worked with SAI for around 5 years prior to that so it was mostly transferring knowledge and relearning short-keys. (Which I found out too late that you can change \D)

I've really enjoyed working with it too! I've dabbled with GIMP, Paint.net, SAI and Photoshop, and Clip Studio is an excellent rounding of all those other programs, especially for comic work. It's also very customisable, and for the price, it is reallyy hard to beat. :'DD

It took me a few years to get used to, only because I was so deep into SAI that I didn't want to change. I think I've been using SAI for around 7-ish years.

I now use CSP for all my comic work, but SAI for all my other digital art. I have my custom brushes set up and I'm not weirded out by the way CSP functions, so it's been smooth sailing! I like it a lot more than Photoshop, which I barely touch anymore (except for effects), and it's now safely tied with SAI as my favorite program to work with.

I love CSP. I've been using it since 2014. I don't remember how long it took to learn it, but it wasn't so incredibly different from Photoshop, so it wasn't hard. Some of my favorite features are the brush engine, the 'close gap' feature of the magic wand select-y thingy, the built-in screentones (though I don't use tone anymore), and the lightweighted-ness of the program.

I was just going to suggest the Runtime DNA forums as an awesome resource for tutorials and questions, but in trying to look up the link I discover it gone. Well, if you get stuck, just go for Google, or ask here!

I haven't switched over to it fully, since I don't want to delay my schedule by learning a new program. I'm planning to do my next chapter in it however.

Some of the features are really useful, the perspective tools etc, and some you think would be useful aren't fully formed enough to be that useful. For example, the 3D mannequins are incredibly fiddly to use and not customisable (especially when compared to Poser or premium 3D packages like Autodesk Maya (though maybe that's an unfair comparison)). The panelling is very useful though, since in Photoshop I do this with a tonne of masks and it's a pain sometimes.

The brushes and pen feel in CS blow Photoshop out of the water, it also works with my Wacom tablet in a much more consistent way, whereas Photoshop occasionally gives me jaggy lines and I have to restart to make it work properly again.

Clip Studio Paint is a blessing upon filthy gaijins from the manga gods of sunrise land (it's very quite good)

It doesn't take too long to learn either, as the interface is easy to understand.

I've jumped around on a lot of programs: SAI, liked it. Then Manga Studio, loved it. I got Clip Studio and instantly loved it more the MS.

I use CSP for all my comics now. I started about 2 years ago and have never looks back. The only problem is that it it doesn't allow you to save in any of the vector file types, although you can create vectors which come in handy for landscapes.

The trick with any software is to not get complacent and always looks for more efficient ways to produce the same quality of work. CSP does that for comic.

I used SAI for about a year, which was great for getting started, but CSP offers a lot more options. And once you get to know the possibilities, it's really versatile.

However, a lot depends on your drawing/painting style and personal taste.
I personally see CSP as a balanced mix, suited for most tasks.

I use it, and I love it. I got it a couple months ago, before that it was mainly photoshop elements and medibang/firealpaca. Though I haven't learned everything about it yet, not by far (!), it didn't take me very long to get started and drawing with it, maybe a couple hours? It took me a little while to set the hotkeys/commands to something that worked for me though, but I imagine that goes for any program.

I'm naturally a traditional artist, so the simplest program for me to use is clip studio. It's very straight forward and I had an easy time learning. There are also tons of tutorials online for using the program which is very helpful. I really like it just because it was easy for me to learn and one of the more affordable programs out there.

Everyone told me how amazing Photo Shop is but I just didn't like it even after trying to get into it for the longest time, then I kind of fell into using Sai but I still found it too limiting and I didn't like how line work looked in that program.

For me Clip Studio Paint was a big break through when it came to working digitally, and I love, love love it! Never going back to Sai ever again!

Clip Studio Paint is awesome. I had also purchased it on sale a few years ago. It did have a bit of a learning curve, I still don't have the hang of using the built in 3D models.. Once I got the hang of it I stopped using Photoshop for drawing all together. It really is set up for illustrating and making comics. You can also purchase custom brushes from Frenden to make your work look even better. The build in stabilizer is great, as is the panel tool, the paint bucket, and my favorite the Perspective Ruler.

I somehow used GIMP for 5 years, so I can't say how "feature-full" CSP is compared to other programs like SAI, PS, etc., but I do have to say my comic wouldn't be nearly as simple and painless to draw without CSP. The paneling and layout tools make page organization quick and easy, selection wand is great for lineart filling, tone support is automatic, and I have the EX version, so multipage layouts are also done for me (though that's less essential than the other stuff).

I haven't even tried digging too deeply into the rest of the features it has, but I'm pretty sure CSP will do just about anything you need it to for a comic, and I really wish I had more free time to play around with it more.

Well, it's a little late to ask if it's good. You already bought it!

I've been using CSP EX since April, and it is the best illustration/comic/traditional animation by far. And compared to other programs (* COUGH * Photoshop * COUGH *), you're getting a pretty good deal financially.

The infrastructure isn't that hard to master, and there are a bunch of helpful tools (line art corrector, stabilizer, panel maker, publishing optimization, etc.) that will make your life easier at a creator.

It is a awesome program, and very suitable for making comics or illustration work. I have been working with it for more than a year now and it has made its money back.

Ive been using CSP for about 2 years now, and I have to say it is a very practical program for creating comics. The only issue I'm not adjusting to right now is its gradient tool- I dont like how the gradients look harsh in their progression(in my eyes) than Photoshop. I mainly use CSP to draw & ink my pages; I toggle back and forth between CSP & Photoshop for coloring and small other FX.

I bought CSP when it was on sale, and now every time they have a sale(which is at least 4 or 5 times a year) I try to put the word out to encourage artists to who want to do comics digitally to invest in this program. Unlike Photoshop and the rest of Adobe's programs- with CSP you pay the one time price and that is it. So far the updates have been FREE, and the drawing/inking platform alone is one of the best features of this program. Depending on the inking tools(I invested in Frenden brushes coz I didnt like the default tools for inking) you can produce nice crisp lines and with practice, you can create nice looking pages for your comic..!
