Is the Digimon movie nostalgic to you? For me ti is, I remember my mom buying the vhs for me and my brother and we watched it a whole lot. I like it more than the Japanese originals, except for the Angela Anaconda bit in the beginning, that thing can burn in hell.

Sadly never watched it, I remember seeing a vhs tape of it is a big shop once but I think we were hurrying/dad was getting angry, because shopping was taking so long (it was a really huge shop) and/or there was no occasion to ask parents for gifts and I wasn't getting any money for my own at the time, so we passed it and it remained a vague memory of a mysterious vhs digimon tape...
And by the time I had internet access I didn't care that much about digimon xD

I watched the newer Digimon movies post 2014, I think, and those brought back a lot of memories. They even brought back the same English dubbing actors so it brought back a lot of memories for me.

Despite watching the show as a kid, I never saw the movie. Heck I didn’t even know there was one until it was reviewed on Nostalgia Critic.

The newer movies are actually pretty dope. They pick up right after the movies that came out when we were kids and tie together the first two series casts. I got major flashbacks watching it.

I saw the newer movies later as well, they were great I enjoyed both Tamers movies and the Frontier one. My favorite is the original X-evolution movie that was completely CGI and lacked any humans.

I only know the first series and I loved it! Although I have forgotten about 95% of the story by now ^^'

I think, they are to an extend, especially when you grew up with both Monster-raising type of shows and could always compare the two, ending up in probably preferring Digimon more over the other xD
The first Omegamon fusion will always be iconic to me, as it was just pure epicness, as well as the Imperialdramon vs Armaggedemon fight or even the Dukemon Crimson Mode transformation in the movie where they fought Parasimon!

Also, glad to see someone else who likes the CGI movie though!
I like how they wrote Dorumon as the protag, how it changes the Royal Knights‘ views on the world and how it evolves over the course of the story, earning its title as one of them. (That‘s also the biggest reason why Dorumon is also my favorite Digimon lol)

This is a tricky one... I love Digimon... esp Tamers and Frontier were absolutely my favorite HOWEVER I've never seen a movie of Digimon and I haven't even known until now that a movie of it existed... and I watched it ever since elementary school because it mostly ran in the afternoon in the TV when I came home so I hooked on watching animes the entire rest of the afternoon

We only had antenna TV and when the WB went to CW, we didn't have access to Digimon beyond the first few episodes of Tamers, which wasn't my cuppa. But I've had a lot of discussions about Digimon and Pokemon and most people say the same thing, Digimon is better!

I think its only value was the art and as nostalgia to me. My bestfriend and I was obsessed with it back then. He taped it when it was broadcast, and him and I would take turn watching it over the semester.
Rewatching it when I was older, it was kind of a mess lol. I heard the Japanese version is much better, but I havent seen it.

YO AND HOW
I know the whole story behind the movie(s), I too was traumatized by Angelamon, but god damn it's such a piece of childhood that I treasure. Never got the urge to watch the original versions either, though I did watch Belle and I want to see Summer Wars that's basically the franchise-less version.

Honestly singlehandedly made me love rock music in soundtracks, because you bet I was listening to Going Digital and Here We Go even on old internet.

I've always been a Digimon fan because of the movie even if Pokémon always ends up higher, though more on watching whatever OVA or season was on TV at the time. Nowadays I am a fan of Cyber Sleuth and Survive which take direct inspirations from the movie trilogy, so time's a flat circle lol

I loved the digimon movie. It's one of my favorite memories. Seeing them go into the internet was cool and music/songs instantly reminds me of the scenes.

Omnimon was like one of the most unexpected coolest things kid me had seen. I used to think that when digimon DNA digivolve that they were actually just sticking together like two pieces (Omnimon's arms made me think of that).

Took me years to notice that Omnimon was inside of a giant digiegg as part of the transformation sequence. Always wondered what digivolving looked like from the outside. The movie answered that question. You know diaboromon is a true villain since he didn't wait for the protagonists to finish their flashy transformation sequence.

Omnimon is the first character I've seen to harness the power of social media/likes to become stronger.

That movie also reminds me of how old the internet/computers were and some of the issues. Like when Tie smacked his computer and messed it up.
