Hi
I decided to create a patreon account recently, but I'm not really familiar with it and I'm not sure whether I'm doing this right. I have two different series with mainly different genres, and while there might be a tiny bit of readers that follow both of my series, most of them probably only follow the one with more readers. So I was wondering whether combining them both in one patreon is a bad idea? If not, are there any suggestions to do it?

I would like to ask a few more questions as well, if you don't mind
How long did it take you to gain your first patreon? What do you do when you can't get enough/any patreon as you wished? And how to keep yourself motivated until you have a good footing on readerbase?

Any advice or suggestions will be very appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day

Hey I do have a Patreon and from my experience with a few creators I know, it's best to only have one account because Patreon represent you as an artist/author and most of the time people pledge to support you for you, and more importantly Patreon do take some % out of your total income so having 2 accounts would be counter-productive. It's completely ok to have seperate tiers for each of your series and people can choose whichever they like to pledge in

Gaining patrons is a slow process in my opinion so be sure to let your readers know the perks etc. when promoting it on your series.

thank you for the reply
so i'm a bit confused about separating the tiers, does that mean i can create different 1$ tiers for different series then? and they can access the posts differently according to the ones they choose?

Yes, you can create separate tiers for each series. When you go to post there is an option to choose the viewing setting so that you can pick to have all patrons see it or only certain tiers.

I think the only reason you should consider having multiple patreon accounts is if one of your series is for +18 audience, because then you need to check adult checkbox and it will apply to your full patreon page.

Oh forgot to mention, not sure if patron still has this, but there are options you can choose how much % you give patreon when you create your page and the cheapest % doesn't allow you to have tiers.

I have multiple comics on my Patreon. I use tags to distinguish them. Make sure to use your tags wisely and don't have too many of them.

It took me no time at all to get my first patreon! ....because it was my husband. XD;;

this is interesting, but what about the people who only wants to support the comic on the right? I'm guessing this is the artist's most popular comic so people would be willing to support no matter what?

can I ask what tags you use? are there others except the usual illustration, sketch, comic, etc, and do you use your comic titles as tags?

Yup, I use my comic titles and tags such as "early access" "work in progress" "nsfw" "bonus" (for things that don't fit into any other category) etc.

I say it's only a good idea if
A. All the comics has the same genre.
Or B. You give all the comics equal love and attention.

For example, Merryweather is a writer with over 1200 patreons. He doesn't give all his comics the same attention but they all are the same genre. So if someone subcribes for one comic they will most likely enjoy other ones because they follow the same formula.

While on the other hand you have people like ComfortandAdam. They have many stories of different genres but they try their best to support them all, so patreons don't have to see stuff they're not interested in.

I hope this helps.
