Hello!

I'm worried that my comic isn't good cause there's a lot views, but not so many subs!
Does this mean people are ghosting/ my comic is not good enough to sub?

Sorry if this is a dumb question! I'm not sure how the statistics work here!

Thank you in advance!

Almost 1k views with 19 subs is actually quite good.
I would worry too much about numbers. The only numbers that I honestly worry about is the number of people that unsubscribe. Luckily, I have almost none.

If someone subscribes, but then leaves, I wonder if I did something wrong. I could honestly be that people are passing by your comic and it's not their cup of tea. We can't please everyone.

Sometime you don't have to fear those who Unsub, either that is for the best, or they will return when the story progress and become more of their liking! Give them the right time!

Quick maths! That would make a 2% of subscribers by viewers! I will have that into account when checking my numbers~

You have 900 or so views with 19 subs. That's not a huge discrepancy. A lot of those are one person who looked at all your pages, so 19 subs is a good number.

Keep in mind that some of those 900 views is the same person coming to read again. The counter ticks with every chapter they read, so if one person goes through several chapters, the view counter will counter will tick multiple views.
Another thing to remember is that not everyone who reads has a Tapas account. They might simply bookmark your comic.
And lastly, considering that Tapas hides the subscribe button on the desktop version of the site, subs are not very high.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it!!!

I'll keep in mind what everyone said :)))

Thanks again!!!

I've been wondering about this a lot too! I look at the allocation of views across my chapters. So like, (this is a real screenshot of my dashboard. Sorry if this is illegal)

So the views decrease with every chapter. This seems normal to me, because I'm assuming people start reading and then give up or get tired. The high drop off between the first chapter and the second chapter is people looking at it and deciding its not for them. Less people have read chapter 10 than chapter 1 because it takes a lot of commitment to read 10 chapters. All this makes sense to me.
Also I figured out that my chapters with scandalous names get more views, because people are looking for sex scenes. So I changed all the names to be more scandalous. What now, lol.

It's perfectly normal! Most websites will never net more than a 10% engagement rate (so views vs subs and likes), and I don't know what the standard is on Tapas, but like on sites like instagram or twitter you'll see huge accounts with engagement of like 3-7% and that's considered good. So don't sweat it!

Do not worry! The gap will get even bigger when the time passes because you keep releasing new chapters and old readers will keep reading it, adding to the "views" number even while there are no subscribers.

I do not think having a high view/subscribers ratio is a strong indicator of anything.
