Webtoon 2025 Contest, Anyone here planning to join?
Artists, are you thinking of submitting your current work or starting something completely new?

I’m kind of tempted to join myself, even though Webtoon engagement isn't the best.
I'm not particularly confident in my story writing, so teaming up with a writer might be better. I haven’t planned much yet (just found out about it!), but I know I’d feel most comfortable sticking to the Romance genre.

So, if any romance writer here is interested in teaming up, I'd like to discuss this in more detail!

I've participated in several online comic contests over the years, and my personal approach is to do it for the fun of getting an idea out. If it happens to win something in the process that's cool, but the main goal is to craft a story.

A contests with a requirement of minimum 40 panels per episode doesn't sound fun anymore so nope, I won't be participating

I won't be participating. A little under 5 months to create 40 "panels/pages" of my best work on top of the daily stuff I gotta do, including pagework for an ongoing project I make on Tapas.... Doesn't sound fun, just sounds stressful tome.

I feel like for these contests that Webtoons or Tapas puts out, they're gonna pick an already big name creator. Because why wouldn't they? It benefits the site if they choose a known-name instead of a no-name. But maybe that's me being cynical. lol

@Azifri doing 40 panels per episode sounded pretty hard. But the minimum published episode requirements aren't hard to achieve, at least for me!

@thepenmonster Hahah! Yeah, that's true! They made a short story contest before and I thought it was more challenging and fun!

@Calculus_Homework Thank you! However, I don't think I'll be joining if I can't find a writer to work with. (which I haven't rn) I'm used to making 40-panel episodes under 10 days, which is why I wouldn't mind the given deadline. It can be pretty stressful (but I might be just addicted to adrenaline).
I definitely agree on the last part tho! The chances for my work to be seen is practically zero ngl. Plus, they did mention that official creators are allowed to join, so...

I'd love to enter but there's no way I can build up an audience that'll help boost my comic. My writing and drawing skills will mean nothing if no one is there to read it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rachel Smyth automatically gets the grand prize just for entering lol. Or Merryweather

It's probably gonna be like last time: Grand prize cash award being a package deal with an Originals contract. So you can't just take the money

I'm definitely planning to join! been working on it with my artist for a while now. although I need to run a Kickstarter just to get the money to make those last 2 episodes lmao. a webtoon originals contract, despite all I've heard about it, is the only way I have to afford to get my entire 4-season dream webcomic out there, without running 80 kickstarters lmao. so I'm really hoping to win one. but even if I don't, no biggie. I'll still get some eyes on my comic, and that's a good start too.

I finally had the courage to submitt my entry to webtoon comtest 2025. I updated an old comic I drew years a go Console Wars. I don't think I'll get 40% engagement. I could use likes and comments anyway to help suporrt it.

I'm currently taking part. My comic isn't popular but it's nice to put my work out there. I love making stories.

This is why I don't care for WT contests some of these entries are new and the art is meh, 7k likes, 400 or more comments, 100k subs forget those. Hopefully WT will ignore those rediculus comics that entered and focus more on the creativity, and story.
