Is it okay to switch main genres?

I switched my main genre to slice of life because I want to see how it goes, but I feel like my comic is more comedy than slice of life. Should I continue being in the slice of life section for a while to see how it goes, or would that be wrong?

Wrong for whom exactly? You can put it in BL if you want, really. If you think the other genre is more appropriate somehow, or you get more reads and subs this way, of course it's fine, no one will punish you for this.
I will agree that it's more of a comedy though, imho.

I switch my genres all the time, usually when my comic develops more. I also do it to see if switching the main genres will get more views.

However, you should not use the genres to mislead people, that will not increase sub numbers.

I was actually considering switching the main genre to see if it would help get news eyes on my work, but I'm not sure if that's against the rules or not. I wouldn't switch it to something irrelevant, all three genres could potentially be main genres. I may try it and see.

Switching to a popular, but nonrelated genre can only backfire, because you are targeting people that are not looking for what you are doing in your story.

For what i`ve seen in your comic, slice of life doesnt fit, because the focus is not on the daily life of your main cast.

I recommend you to keep comedy as your main genre, because it fits better

Yes! You can absolutely switch between genres so long as they actually apply to your story!
A friend switched from LGBTQ+ as their main genre to BL and saw an avalanche of new subscribers~

Absolutely you can! I keep doing it too hahahaha to maximize the amount of readers I can get! I change up the genre of my novel Megachurch because the overall themes of the story aligns with three main genres! One week I'm in mystery, then I'm in horror, then I'm in drama! I'm thinking of putting it on LGBTQ+ or BL too once I get to the gay side of the story mweeehehe!~ I think it's very wise to do this, yes.

Yeah I have a similar situation where my main genre could be Fantasy, Romance or LGBTQ+ (maybe even BL but thats debatable ) So Im def gonna try it and see how it works out! I was thinking about doing it for a while but then I was like .... is that cheating . . .. .. . ??

Hahahahaha! Well, from what I learned in my days as a teacher, cheaters truly are winners HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'M JUST JOKING PLEASE DON'T TAKE ME SERIOUSLY HAHAHAHA! In all seriousness, I think it's not cheating. We are just using the best of what we have in the platform. If others wants to be purists and stay in one genre, more power to them! I am not here to judge other people's decisions hahahaha! But there is absolutely nothing wrong with our decision to use the services Tapas is allowing us to use.
