I hope some creators can still sign on with them as exclusives to some degree but I am happy to see them reinvest in existing comics!
I think you're right, profit sharing and paying up front are very different and if they have certain creators under a profit sharing agreement they stand to make money.
Thanks so much for recommending me!! Here's a few I like!! Court of Roses: I read through this recently! It's a bard adventure! Very DnD inspired. It has a big queer cast, fun characters and lots of magical music. The artist just started posting on tapas but it's been running for a bit! A…
You are brave to make this leap! Best of luck to you! I've thought about it but its so nice having a day job and having the means to be comfortable financially while working on my passion! I think I prefer it this way for now, but who knows what the future holds!
Thanks so much for the info! I guess, in that case, I will stay tuned. I remember a 2k goal for that way back and I reached it finally, so I was kinda bummed when I looked for the guidelines again!
I still seems like the studio tapas stuff is for artists pitching their work to partner with Tapas on a new premium series - but maybe I'm wrong? It doesn't say anything about stuff for existing comics but there's info for novels in the FAQ area.
Hello! Does anyone know if its possible to pitch an existing comic for consideration for a Tapas premium series? I know its possible to do it for novels, but I'm not seeing anything about pitching a comic unless its more of an idea pitch, not for an ongoing series. Maybe I'm just missing the inf…
Join us! Its a great community and it will be even better with some new faces!
Mine is slow burn to an extreme, you could say. Enemies to lovers, and boy does it take a while... its fantasy/lgbtq with a sort of "western" feel.
Oof wow Webtoons is crazy strict. I have some scenes in later chapters that might be questionable... I will have to get creative it seems! Sorry that happened though, thats so annoying and the hypocrisy is so stupid. Like - there's no good reason for it. There's no nipple and honestly when I read it…

Sometimes old art has a trait about we lost. It might be rough around the edges, but its more expressive. It might not be technically correct, but its more evocative. Its good to examine yourself, compare your old and new works, and find some of that old spark again if you've lost it.
Oh man people don't like One Piece's art style? Thats the one thing I DO love about it. Its the writing that I'm struggling with more so. (this is really a personal preference thing and not really a testament to the quality of the writing itself.) The designs in One Piece are so unique and amazing, …
Congrats!!! I hope you get even more soon!! it can be a slog but its a labor of love, dont give up!! !
I agree that sub for sub is not really an ideal way to go about it. I want subscribers who like my work, not who subbed out of obligation. In the same vein, I only sub to stories I want to read. A "like" for "like" is a better system but at the same time... I still only want people liking it if they…
Wow thats an awesome comment to get!! heartwarming! !! !
Here's mine! and of course ill vote for everyone https://www.topwebcomics.com/vote/26496
I'm so much into the grind that I haven't been keeping up with personal milestones. But I have noticed a lot of progress with my art as I go, and without even realizing I've made over 130 pages in a year. That's so nuts to me. I never thought I would make it this far. My main goal is to keep makin…
I submitted! I am very excited about this opportunity!
I feel like this one has potential [image] The page isnt even out yet to the public but i just love this dynamic
I think you raise a really good point about the subjectivity of the subscriber count. It seems like what is way more important is having subs that are engaged with the work. Its better to have 500 really enthusiastic readers, then 10k who don't even read.
"Jack Beloved" is a play on words based on this rhyme [image] The title has the same cadence. But it also doesn't refer to a proper noun, rather a devil-like species called jacks. So its kinda playful, but suggesting a romance.
I am intrigued! I'll throw this in here incase this piques your interest. If not, thats cool too.
Our story is completely fantasy, but is heavily colored by current events. The protagonist gradually loses his faith in his country, after seeing its horrors, and I feel like that's been informed by our own experience as Americans. Its a product of our times, I just hope its not so topical that it b…
This is a really cute comic I'm into it.
I'm really liking the ideas in here.. having a playlist. That sounds like a lot of fun! In our story there's a big emphasis on music. I'm wanting to portray it in a visual way, since obviously comics do not usually have sound associated with them. I'm using a lot of abstraction to try and get the …
A lot of inspiration for my art is a weird combination of Traditional animation, Abstract expressionism, and various contemporary illustrators. Media I've loved over the years that have inspired me are things like Lion King, Balto and Prince of Egypt. They are very effective with their visual sto…
Happy to see some love for MTMTE ahhh
Im actually thinking about learning graphic design to try and break into that. Did you study it in college or learn on your own?
I see it as a long game. Realistically it can take several years to gain enough of a footing to really make a living, and it requires a lot of hustling, multiple income streams, marketing etc. Having a day job for me allows me the flexibility to get this slow fire goin'. I want my day job to be ... …
