Is there still room for traditional comics?

Hi, I've just started a new webcomic, Galaxy Guts: https://tapastic.com/series/Galaxy-Guts
However, when I'm looking around on Tapastic, the vast majority of comics are all digitally made.
I've always had a passion for working with all sorts of inks on paper and it's what I know best.
So I'm wondering if there's still an audience for ink on paper or whether eventually I will have to go to drawing on a tablet?

Unless you're working for industries that rely heavily on digital medium like video games, mobile apps, TV and movies, there's no obligation to learn or switch to digital. Use your inks by all means if you're most comfortable with them, and I don't think anyone minds analog or traditional works as long as they're presentable, understandable and pleasant to the eye.

Creating content digitally has become popular mostly because of its speed and convenience. It is also cheaper for many artists in the long run. And it is attractive to beginners because of shortcuts and "automatic" tools such as Sai and Clip Studio Paint's pen stabiliser. No right or wrong here; just stating probable reasons

Personally, I have major respect for traditional artists because they can do amazing things without relying on the undo button. I can barely survive without it! Lol

Thanks! That's really encouraging for me as everyone's work can look so perfect and polished in the digital form - where on the other hand there is so much room for error traditionally. But I love it nevertheless!

You do realise that readers couldn't care less how you make your comic, right?
People look at the end result. They don't really care what tools you use, how much effort or if it's your passion or not. What they care about is what they have in front of them and that's it.

Well that's reassuring! As a newbie to the online world of comics I had no idea of the expectations with media. But in that case, I better make sure my scripts are good!

Just because everyone else seems to jumping on the digital train doesn't mean you should. If you have more confidence in your traditional mediums there's no need to handicap yourself by trying to do digital just because it seems more popular. Go with what works best for you.

In my experience there is a readership bias when it comes to visual work, but if there weren't an audience for it, there wouldn't be traditional comics. People normally use digital because, as everyone said, it's cheaper and faster. Sometimes they do it because digital looks more polished. In a way I personally prefer traditional work, it has a liveliness that digital hasn't been able to replicate, and it's overall more enjoyable to work with for me.
Unless you personally get tired of the medium you're working with, don't jump on the bandwagon. Traditional art is an awesome, rare thing that should be worked with more often.

I've seen plenty of full traditional comics on this site. Like Carlos had mentioned, readers don't care about what medium you use, they only care about the end result that's in front of them. My comic is traditionally inked and most of my readers couldn't even tell.

I agree, I think most common readers don't even know (or wonder) if the comic they're reading is done digitally or traditionally. As Savannah says, there are comics out there that you would think are done digitally, but in fact, they were drawn traditionally.

I draw traditionally too, so I know where your worries come from, just worry to produce a quality product using the medium you like the most =] .

I dunno bout others but to me there is still room for traditional comics, mine is traditional and also all my favorite comics like manga n whatnot are also traditional and to say the truth I admire traditional art more cuz its something the artist does with his own hands physically no offence to those that do digital, oh and another reason that I prefer traditional comics is that the art evolution is something that I view as more challenging than that of digital since I haven't digital comics where the art evolves at a long pace.
