As a writer, I honestly have no idea what's going to happen to the Shadow of the Story or to Ray in the upcoming chapters
Chapitre 3:
The man I bumped into turned toward me slowly,
his eyes looking down at me as if I were filth stuck to his shoe.
With a voice dripping with disgust, he said:
“Get away from me, you filthy... rotten dog.”
He didn’t shout. He didn’t hit me.
But he said it like someone spitting without even opening their mouth.
His words hit me harder than hunger ever could.
The pain wasn’t in my body it was in my soul.
I slowly lifted my head.
I saw his face… smooth features, clean clothes, expensive cologne.
He walked away without looking back.
As if he’d just come across a bug not even worth stepping on.
I remained on the ground for a moment.
My hands trembled, my chest rose and fell quickly.
I didn’t know anymore… was I crying? Shaking? Or just trying not to break in front of all these eyes passing by as if I didn’t exist?
But there was no time to stay down.
I stood back up.
I held myself together, even though everything inside me was falling apart.
“Ray is still there… He can’t die.”
