Is this good enough to be an opening shot?

So I am a complete beginner at drawing backgrounds but know well that you need an establishing shot. I feel like I'm spending too much trying to draw background then ditching it and trying again. And when I'm finally satisfied with a sketch with base colors I simply don't know what to do with it to make it "finished".
But yeah, I stalled enough and I just really want to get past the first panel...

So... Is this good enough? And if not, what can I do to make it better?

(The focus of the scene should be on the tower, there will be a guy on it, watching the city and a figure climbing it from the side.)

(A. With no blur.)

(B. With blur everywhere except the tower)

(C. With blur everywhere except the tower and stars.)

Honestly, I like it how it is. It reminds me of a starry night painting I saw when I was younger. This beacon of light and then everything else is just dark around it. It's cool!

This is lovely! Personally I don't feel as though the blur makes all that much of a difference, given that the colours and composition already turn the eye's attention to the tower instantly, and the rest already blends into the deeper blue? It's an intriguing opening shot. I'm already curious to see what this is about :3

I kind of agree with @yozhikisblue about the blur, however, I maybe would put some depth (shadow) between the houses in the foreground, you actually got them already pointing towards the tower and it's kind of sad to have all the really well-done architecture and then lose it through the colours. That way, the tower might stand out even more as it probably wouldn't have such deep shadows. It's okay to use sharp edges in light/shadow situation, they actually can help lead the eye!

Haha, unfortunately, you'll have to wait for a bit to see the episode, because I'm new to comics and am developing a new style so I'm kinda slow at drawing right now.

That's actually an amazing idea! I will definitely give it a shot! Earlier I tried shading tower and it started looking wrong to me. I guess shading some buildings was what I was supposed to do I blame everything on the artblock, lol.

I would lower the volume? of the purple in the front just enough to see some of the black lines, to establish more the location.

I like it, and the only suggestion I have is to make the lighter color more intense for a higher contrast. Highest level of contrast would be a more yellow color but if you want it to be more mellow maybe try just splash of it.

The lighting is incorrect. The orange light from tbe tower would blanket the roof tops a little, especially considering how bright it looks. Additionally, it's really hard to see the city scape because of hpw dark the blue is. So additional shading of the alleys, and lights in othe buildings could go a long way.
On the plus side, your depth of field is good, and your horizon line correctly placed. Texture where it can be seen looks good.
