Chapter 2 Page 1 is being debuted tomorrow and we're ramping up the series a bit. However, we're both concerned whether tomorrow's page will be considered NSFW based on Tapastic.Com Violence Policy. Below here is a preview image (pre-lettering) and (pre-formatting) so only (5%) spoilers. Would love to get Staff and member opinion alike. Thanks!

from what I can see from the preview, no.

What is here that you're thinking might constitute extreme violence?

That's not "extreme violence," man, no worries! NSFW is for stuff like, dismemberment or gore or that kinda thing. Punching a guy is safe for a saturday morning cartoon; it's not gonna get anybody in trouble if they're seen reading it. : )

A punch is hardly considered extreme, given all the superhero books in which the hero punches the villain.

Thank you all for your replies. We just simply wanted to be 300% sure this would be okay.

lol I have a page where Uzuki repeatedly curbstomps a bitch, and several pages where characters heads are ripped off (and that's all pretty vanilla for Time Gate). Hell, a character who's introduced later on is practically entirely mutilated, with a cut open jaw, sliced eyelids, and open blade wounds all over his body.

The violence rule on Tapastic is mainly there for series that are unnecessarily violent, promote violence, and are way, WAY more than would constitute a fair amount of violence. Most of the time when violence is in a series, it makes sense, but if your series is just people gutting each other, scalping each other, etc. with no drive to a plot whatsoever and it's just some kind of fantasy trip for the author, theeeen that's where the rules would come more into play. Simple punches to the face and even stab wounds are fine.

As for when to put NSFW, as it's been pointed out, punches happen in your every day cartoon shows and comic books - unless there's an extreme amount of gore, dismemberment, etc. it's really not necessary. If it would be in a torture porn/horror movie, then NSFW is probably required, but if it could get away with being in a PG 13 movie, then it's fine.

I consider my comic Pg-13, even if I show some blood.
My references are mostly 90's action movies. I saw that as a kid and wasn't shocked about it. As long as I don't show zoom shots of open wounds, characters could be shooting each other no problem!
(Except for them)

in my opinion, if it shows guts, excessive gore ect. and/or nudity it's NFSW. but punches kicks or stabbings are fine, just put a pg 13 warning if you want. Oh! and swearing doesn't need NSFW just an age warning.
