I seriously don’t understand the ruckus, the man died in the 30s, why are people talking about him as if he is still alive? Who cares about what his views were, why he wrote his books. Nobody cares that Walt Disney was buddies with Hitler, nobody is hanging that over the head of the dead man. People still gobble up Disney products left and right. This is the first time I have ever heard of anything like people are linking to things about him.
He grew up in a different time period, if he was still alive yea sure go ahead and hound the by now ancient man who most likely would not be able to speak or see or breathe on his own. Yell at him in a hospital bed about how you don’t like his ideologically insensitive writing. I get why there’s dislike toward the creator, but don’t rag on the creations. Anyone can choose to interpret something anyway they want, if everyone saw it the way the people I spoke to did, then no one would like the monsters at all ever.
I thought the controversy was something recent, as again I know nothing of HP Lovecraft except about how popular his monsters are. So the people bringing these things up, does that technically mean you think that everyone who likes his monsters but knows nothing about him at all outside of them is racist?
Just wanted to take the discussion elsewhere because this is seriously weird.
