Firstly, great job finishing your webseries after two years. There is a certain sense of accomplishment and relief that comes from finishing a comic.

Like you, I'm no stranger to completed series on Tapas. My comic goes by seasons that act as independent series on their own. Season 1 ended back in December 2017 and season 2 ended early January last year. Currently, my series is in it's third season, which is actually set to end this upcoming thursday. So by the end of this week, I would have completed 3 series.

Way to go! Sticking something out for that long is no small feat I'm sure it feels great to be through the finish line!

I finished my first comic last December- totaling out at 70 pages and 17-20 months of production (depending on how you count it lol... wrote and started it in the spring of 2018 but then was busy that summer and took it all off, then started back up full speed that fall).

The process was really fun but also really intense- it was hard finding a balancing act between comic and "life" throughout the whole thing lol. It was like, especially at the beginning during that Fall launch period I was really into it and spending practically all of my free time working on the comic. Good for production, but bad for preventing burn out lol.

I spent that first winter taking an extended break to indulge in holiday-related side projects, but then I burned through the entirety of my backlog and never recovered, which meant that I had an entire year of working week to week with no backlog ahead of me which... sucked xD Starting around that summer I kinda unofficially dropped to a "once per 2 weeks or week and a half" type schedule as I started consistently missing my weekly upload times by a day or more. Thankfully my readers were all super sweet and understanding but it was definitely something that I took note of to work on for the next project- I'm looking at either finishing portions completely before posting, or at the very least having a significant amount of backlog next time (and not just like 6-8 pages because I saw how fast that can run out haha).

The latest step in the journey with this comic is coming to terms recently that it actually is finished, at least for the time being. I wrote it originally as a one shot story but left it with an open ending that I could use to extend it into a longer series if I felt like it. Mid-way through I decided that I did want to pursue an extension and started loosely outlining a "Season 2".

After finishing, taking a break, and returning to work on the script though... I've come to the realization that I'm not feeling as passionate about that anymore. The world building and design decisions for the one shot were very "quick and dirty" because I just wanted to get started making comics right away, and I'm now seeing that that's not a great foundation for a longer series. I may return to finish writing another Season down the line but for now I've decided to change gears and try another project that I've had on the back burner for some time! I don't feel so bad about it either since I did bring the one-shot to completion at least!

Congratulation 120 pages is truly an enormous feat.

Haven't read your story though, but am indeed interested now. I'll try to give you feedback if I get to read your work. I already like the softness of it displayed in the ending panel.

The only comic I have every finished is a nonsensical oneshot called Skeleton War. The process is basically me being stupid and sp00ky. So I'll stop at that...

I just did a quick binge. It's wonderfully bizarre, and your monsters are beyond amazing. The story and the characters are a strong anker in a beautiful sea of utter weirdness.

I've said this to a few people on this site, because apparently there's no end to the hidden gems here, but you should look into getting this published.

Congrats! It's always a great feeling to have completed something!
I just binged the whole thing and I really liked it! The creature designs were fantastic and I really liked the theme. There are a lot of stories that are trippy for the sake of trippy, but I super appreciate the heart and message behind this one! Well done!

As for feedback, I think (as much as some people dislike exposition-y starts) it would have hit stronger to have the golden ratio exposition at the beginning, to really strike home that Des seeks order, which then could flow into the introduction about travelers. The ending could also have been extended a bit longer I feel, perhaps even just a page or two so that Des comes to terms with her new normal and cementing the bond she's formed with Sideways.

But uh, as for completed works, I've got a few of my own.
My shorter ones are Erie Waters (which took like a year and a half to complete) and its companion At Ease (which took even less time).
A zine, Typhon and Echidna, that took me about a month to complete.
My longest comic that I finished so far is Demon House, and that took FIVE years to finish. Whew! I was sure relieved when that wrapped up.

I finished my first chapter last year but I still have a long way to go heh. The end of this year will be the second year of my comic But I’ve take a lot of breaks and am a bit behind where I’d like to be. Still slow and steady right? ️

I just finished this as a collab with an artist for the webtoon short story contest. We've been going at it for some months now, with the deadline being tomorrow, so that "FINISHED!" feeling is just amazing T_T<3

Aww ty! I feel a little bad because I've heard that sentiment both on tapas and webtoons as well as from a few of my irl friends that read TH but the more I stared at the outline for S2, the less satisfied I was with it @u@;; Was taking more time than expected to refine into something good, and then it would take a long time to draw as well... may very well come back and revisit it someday since a decent chunk of the work is done on it already.

But by comparison I'm suuuuper excited for the new project I've recently taken off the back burner I feel the creative energies flowing again haha.

I just finished my Webtoon Short Story Contest entry recently! It seems so strange, as this is the first of my projects I've actually finished. It's a nice feeling to finally finish something, even if it's short, haha.

@snowy Publishing would be cool, but I'm just another unknown in the vast, lawless expanse of the internet, so Sideways is probably stuck where it is. It seems to have made a few people happy at least, and that makes me happy too.
@Rhonder Having a buffer is a lifesaver, because burnout is hell. Good to hear you're aiming for a healthier workflow, and good luck on your next project!
@borzoiteeth I got started making short stories and I will continue making them in between big projects, because honestly, they're great. I learned so much from making shorts. Finishing even one is an accomplishment, let alone two!
