Just curious about asking this [What time of day do you draw?]

Alright, so I have been noticing a trend I've been having for drawing only at night, and I was wondering if any of you guys out there have specific times of drawing and why? For me its because its quiet and no ones awake to disturb me. ( sorry if this question is so random he he...)

Very late (after12am) or very early (5am) suit me for the same reasons. No one calling, no one to send me emails, dead quiet outside. There's so much going on during the day it's impossible to stay focused.

I prefer those same hours. I have no idea why because it's quiet here during the day, but I'm most awake and able to focus at night. During the day I always feel flustered and sluggish :s

I draw whenever I have the time according to my RL schedule.

Mon- Fri I draw during dead lulls at my day job, and/or in the evening once I get home. I may draw for like 3 or 4 hours at night & usually shut it down at midnight so I can get up and go to work the next day.Some of those nights I may take the evening off coz A) need mental rest or B) need physical rest(resting my hands).

On the weekends I usually dont get started until after 3pm(I sleep a little later til noon & require AT LEAST 3 hrs after I wake up to get my mind adjusted- coffee helps as well). Those days I'll take breaks to do stuff like stretch, do laundry & other household chores, or go grocery shopping. Saturdays I usually dont quit until anywhere between 3-5AM; Sundays I wrap work up usually about midnight coz I have to work at the day gig on Monday. The only time I'll take a weekend day off is if I have a function to do(go to the movies, go to a convention) or I'm fatigued(mentally, physically) and need a break from drawing/doing comics altogether.

I like drawing at night too!
Weirdly enough, my rhythm seems to change every few days or weeks so sometimes I prefer drawing in the morning... It has the same advantages in terms of quietness and sunrises are nice to watch as well.

The times I'm most productive are at night ( from 9pm to 5am) and it's also the times I produce my best work. I read a very good scientific article of why that is happening to many artist - because your brain has been working through the day and the later you stay, the less your brain "worries" - aka, you make smoother lines because you do it automatically, without thinking too much, or you come up with better concepts and ideas, because your brain is not as self-conscious of how other will perceive it. In a way, staying late makes you more liberal with your art choices.

I prefer to work earlier before my commute to work. 6am-7:30am. Some evening I sneak in another hour or so before bed 9pm.

i draw mostly when i get up early mornings mainly because i live in a place that has noisy people most of the day so getting something done while they are in bed is the best bet.

From midnight to 4am is when i can really concentrate the most. the day is just so busy and distracting. Precious alone time <3

I have a scheduled time when it comes to running my blog and comic series. Since I have a day job at my design company, I can only work weeknights and weekends. Therefore, I work Monday - Thursday 6 pm - 2am and Sundays at 12pm - 8 pm.

I usually draw from 11am to whenever I get what I need to do done. But I'll always stop at 5pm or so to start cooking dinner.
I never draw at night unless I'm struck with sudden inspiration or I need to finish something I didn't get done earlier in the day.

but now I usually do it during the day because in the evening I just don't feel like doing anyhting anymore X_X

Early in the morning. from 6am to 9am, I'm drawing and linearting. I have to because I spend the rest of the day just coloring everything in. I don't usually finish until around 5pm. Randomly throughout the day, I do thumbnails.

Practically every time of the day (starting around 6am - 7am), except around the lunch hours. Then I'm completley useless and get distracted easily, so I do other stuff then (take a walk, research, doing groceries, dance weirdly up and down my room...) In the evening I pick up the pencil again until around 12pm. It gets a little tricky when I have school, since this takes place exactley during my unproductive hours. Maybe I should try to get used to a different schedule...

For me it depends on what I'm drawing. What I mean, is I am a freelance illustrator, this is what pays my bill so I spend most of my day on projects for "work", and unless I have a looming deadline I try to contain my work drawing to a reasonable part of the day. I do my "fun" drawing in the evening after I get my family fed and in bed. I spend the last few hours of the night drawing for fun or for my comic.
