Okay, this is a WAY out of the ordinary question but I figured I would ask here before scavenging the internet for answers.

I work digitally and I want to get LASIK so I don't have to worry about glasses or contacts anymore. I figured I could ask my doctor but I wanna hear from real people who have had the procedure and lead the same work lifestyle I do.

Has anyone here gotten LASIK? How soon were you able to return to work in front of a computer for 12+ hours? Have you had any side effects?

I had LASIK last year...it seriously the best! There's an obvious recovery time where you'll need to not be working on anything digitally at all (I think I took a week off from all screen time? It wasn't super long.) but after that, I've had no problems with working digitally and my vision. It's all kind of relative to a person, but like, I wouldn't say more than a month before you're good for returning to a full computer-based job. I was back to school and computer things after the week.

The only minor side-effect I have is dryer eyes- they give you these eye drops, and you really should be using them 3x or more a day. I do it during meal breaks, super easy, negates the only minor side-effect I've gotten from LASIK.

I've also had LASIK and was back to work pretty quickly.

I did experience dry eyes, so I would suggest packing eye drops and wetting your eyes on a schedule. Also, make sure to take regular breaks and close your eyes or look at something far away.
