This newbie's been it for at least a year and a half (it's not explicitly stated though because.. well, I didn't think it was important enough to mention), but between him juggling that and high school.. he's definitely still new to it. Well, according to a bunch of research I did going on google looking at forums and personal opinions from people who've been at it for 10-15 years.
No need to worry about this lol it's a high school setting. The five characters are trying to take down this bully organization thing which dominates about 70% of the school. There's only like 3 out of all of those students that have hardcore training for anything martial arts lol and even then. the main character only fights one of them and he definitely loses that fight, but things get resolved anyways.
Yeah, pretty much. It focuses heavily on the main protagonist though, to the point where I'm debating on whether the group of five are all main characters, or just one main character and the other four count as supporting characters. I'm kinda leaning towards the latter, since the comic would be called Momma's Boy, after all. I had some fights planned for the others, but it's a question of.. how and when can I tie it into the story? But that's a question for another day~
I'm glad you think I'm handling it better, but talking about it makes me feel like... well, it's hardly the same trope anymore lol
