So I haven't seen one of these threads in a hot minute, but if you make a mood board in canva about your comic/novel (or some other collage program similar), I'd like to see it, because 1. it's fun and 2. sometimes you just can't get the vibe of a novel or a comic just from a cover illustration alone, and 3 I think mood boards are a really great way to do some worldbuilding and research as I get geared to draw and illustrate the scenes. It's always nice to find your vibe, youknow? And I'd like to be inspired by your boards.

Anyway, do you guys ever make mood boards in your process? Mine are usually in Pinterest, but I decided to check out canva because so many are using it.

Here's mine for The Shapeshifter's Wife. Was happy to see Canva has a good selection of bears and candles

I’ve never made a mood board before so it might not be great, also I took images from google and put them into procreate

I’m happy with how it turned out!

Using a moodboard was useful for my process since I'm a writer working with an artist. I could give my comic the look and feel that I want even if it wasn't drawn by my self.

@meap ah, I love the Witch Academia reference and Halloween vibes! Lots of purples

@stargazer31 I like how there's a lot of personality in just patterns and florals--you get a sense of who is a quiet character and who is probably quite loud.

@LawrenceSV yo that is a lot of really good town reference! Even down to color palates--that would be so handy when drawing backgrounds

I have pinterest boards for all my projects (too many ;;; ) so I threw together one for Julian Rhydderch. Obviously trying to keep spoilers minimum!!
