Hi, I am planning to publish my first manhwa on Lezhin but I don't know how the situation is at the moment. I know that a few years ago there were many controversies that left the platform a bit bad and I would like to know if they have been solved or there are still many complaints.
The first thing I heard about was that the salaries for the authors were very low, between 1800-2000 dollars, they were very exploited by the monthly chapters and that every time they were late they were paid less.
As a last case, I learned that they did not allow an author who had cancer to take a break.
Could someone more or less tell me how it's all going now? I think I will end up publishing in Lezhin but I'm interested to know how things stand.
Also if anyone roughly knows I would like to know:
Their payment method, is it monthly, per chapter or does the money come from readers coins?
I would also like to know if anyone knows about the contracts, how long they are usually, if there is any way they can suddenly stop working with you.
The breaks and breaks they let you take and if there is some kind of paid vacation or something like that.
And as a last question, is it normal for Lezhin to contact you directly? I'm asking because I hardly know any non-Korean manhwa authors from Lezhin, I think there are about 5-8 and they were usually known creators with their works published on other platforms before but in my case they contacted me when right now I only have contact with bomtoon. I don't know how normal this is, that's why I'm asking.
If someone could answer me these questions it would make me very happy, thank you so much.
