LINE Webtoon - Opinions?

Haha, I'm not changing it just to get some money. I'm proud of the destruction in my comic and actual backgrounds, and no one can take that away from me.

Considering I saw horror comics on there with melted people involved that censored very little, I'm kind of wondering about this too...

I still keep considering reformatting Daniel for Webtoon, but I keep thinking if I completely reupload the comic there it's just going to get downvoted. XD Still, maybe some time I'll give it a whirl....but not if they have limits on graphic violence I won't! I just never got that impression from some of their horror comics...

I went to double check their operational policy, but I can't see to find their rules on graphic violence, just a bunch of rules about nudity and soliciting. Maybe I'm seeing things or they removed it.

was this for the contest itself or in general? Because I post my series on there every week and just off of the top of my head R:ILPERSONA has

1) butchered/dead bodies
2) disembowelment/exploding bodies
3)a violent attack that results in a really graphic injury

and i've never had a problem. Maybe its because my series is drawn in a style that looks like an anime/cartoon that makes it less graphic looking? I dunno.

if that new contest doesn't allow violent content that would be dumb since most superhero books contain violence.

I'm curious on what you content would be, cause I follow their tumblr and the do little ad/promotion posts for their featured stuff, and every once and a while I get hit with ads for one of their featured horror series, and the panels they picked to give people a sneak peek and promote the comic are filled someone getting disembodied / decapitated / eaten with blood spraying all over the place. It's a little bit off putting as most of them time it's gag a days and cheesy flaky clips from romance, then you just randomly get a string of comic ads featuring blood guts and gore.

This one reminds me of this which is from one of their featured comic. I'm not really sure what to say about this but your comic doesn't look that graphic, to me at least. The best way obviously would be checking out some featured comics there.

What a depressing yet apt comparison.

Though the speech balloons are probably not an issue in the original Korean version, as honorifics/ conjugation can make it obvious as to who's talking.

So naturally, the readers who see comics there that take only one or a few pages updated in a week would seem 'slow.'

I don't think that's the primary factor. There was some manga scanlation site that started featuring webcomics made by site users, years ago, and IIRC most people were okay with the amateur comics updating at a slower pace despite the audience being used to Shounen Jump update schedule.

I think part of it is the disconnect between the creators and the readers on LINE. Here, you feel like you can actually befriend other people, creators and readers, and that makes people more understanding of delays. Same thing with that old scanlation site. "The creator is just a human -- like me" is understood in communities like this, but on LINE, the creator is simply the producer of the comic you want to read.

That's really odd...your comic shouldn't have been rejected. Webtoons is so meh, if it wasn't for trying to get exposure I would have pulled R:ILPERSONA off of there because of the downvoting trolls.

There must be some misunderstanding lolz They're not mine, they're from featured comics on the site. And yeah, I don't really get it as to why they even put a rating system there it seems pointless to me. They could've just put the aggregate number of likes of all the episodes instead if they wanted to show how popular a comic is.

Hurm... my personal preference is to avoid contests in general. Cuthroat competition aside, I feel it's a poor way to approach things, and too often seen as a "shortcut" to making it big.

Work hard. Get good. Get really good. Then profit.

I'll probably be entering again, but be a lot more chill with it this time. I worked myself to the point where I didn't sleep for 3 days at a time and my comic quality suffered. The stable pay opportunities are too good to pass up, and theres no denying the bonus of sharing your comic with more readers.

As for their mature terms, I think its based off how much happens per chapter. None of the webtoons are full on gore all the time, though allow it from time to time. It's the same thing as how many cuss words your allowed to say in different rated movies.

I just upvoted your comic on webtoons. There is no way in hell that you should have only a 7 something rating, your artwork and story are really awesome.

I started upload my Jonny Comic and Valve Comic to Webtoon not too long ago. I might enter the superhero contest.

Is there no online forum for Webtoon? I can't really find any one the main menu.
