When you go to your dashboard, you will notice there is an extra button added next to your series like this:

The middle button is stats check, and it also includes whether you are eligible for Webtoon x Patreon or not!

Since they're wanting US views that's how you get your numbers of monthly views

It's "page views", they said that in their Webtoon x Patreon's requirement:

• Update at least twice a month
• Have 3k+ Subscribers
• Have 5k US monthly page views / update

Yeah Webtoon is ranked #15 on the amount of traffic while Tapastic is #688 (statistic achieved through this website www.similarweb.com)

I think they're two different categories. The first is Arts & Entertainment / Animation & Comics, and the second is just Arts & Entertainment .

Hello. Just want to drop by and leave a thought. After uploading 50 pages or so at webtoon I've got the first comment "Too short". But it's written like this: "I hate that it's short but I love that it's good." Much love for this feedback btw.

So, I take it that there are people who are willing to spend their time reading and be engaged in the comic they found. We won't stick to a comic unless we are truly fascinated right? Otherwise, saying 'too short' at the first page is much like trolling to me. I mean, it's a website for comic after all. People hope to dwell more in the comic world that they find engaged. =) So, I am guessing "too short" basically means "I want more" in that web. Of course, we always wanted more of good movies, right?

That's pretty much it. If they actually mean that your episodes are physically too short, they'll usually give a more detailed post. The "Too short" posts are essentially a meme, and should be taken as synonymous with "MOAR PLEASE!!!"

I've been scratching my head at my experience with Webtoons every since I decided to post my comic over there as well. Makes me wonder if having your comic in the appropriate genre effects the amount of subs/views/downvote trolling @___@. Its been a little over 2 weeks since i uploaded and it has a steady sub count of 300+ as of now but I've noticed a large surge of downvoting for the recent updates I've uploaded.

I consider my comic to be action cause theres going to be a lot of that later on but i noticed that comics under the action genre in the discover section gets bad scores with a lack of action on the current update OTL. My comic is in that weird "explanation phase" so theres a lot of talking compared to physical conflict.

Dunno if switching genres would be a smart move... or just keep going. Kinda wish you can hide ratings so you cant see it cause it sometimes just gets me yanno? O<---<

@PurpleGround Yeah, that is pretty much their definition of "too short". If they actually have a problem with your comic being too short, they would be more like "Why is it so short?" "Everything is great, but the length is too short", or like an old comment I got "I don't care about your author's note, make the chapter longer", which immediately got downvoted into oblivion 😂 They said sorry afterward...

@6ooey Ahh I feel you!! TBh the rating system on there is really broken. I keep telling myself to stop caring about it, but low rating still get to me. But now that I have a decent amount of subscribers, my rating has been quite steady since it takes a lot of people to bring it up and down. There are a lot of people who downvote other's series in favor for their favorite one. It happens.

Just went to check your series---- THOSE TROLLS THO how dare they TT_T^ I just rated to bring it up a tad bit. Hopefully other new subscriber will take a seconds to rate for you too!

Yeah I guess I just have to keep uploading and try to ignore ratings OTL. I just don't understand their user-base there and i prefer the community here much more since everyone is friendly and give constructive criticism when appropriate. Thank you though TT__TT)b <3

Sorry for suddenly jumping in. I'm new to Webtoons, (I don't have an account yet though) I was just wondering if horizontal/traditional-style comics/manga are accepted over there? I tried browsing but so far, everything's done in colored and vertical-style (which is supposed to be the format anyway) but I'm just used to the traditional-screentoned horizontal comics. ;A; I was thinking of uploading my comic there once we get to produce enough chapters here on Tapastic to enable us to bulk-upload on Webtoons. (I have read about readers being whiny over "short" comics and my friend and I would like to avoid those)

@ukiyo Yes, just like a normal webcomic hosting site, you can upload pretty much any comic format on there and people would still be okay with it. They more or less prefer vertical scrolling because they came from a big Korean webcomic site and most of their big titles are in this format. I think I heard someone who got asked to become a featured artist, first need to reformat their work into vertical form tho?? So it is possible, there are a lot of big titles that follow the horizontal format. Just make sure the panels and bubble speech are big enough for mobile readers LMFAO

Thanks for the answer and tip on the panels and speech bubbles. ^^ My friend who typesets the dialogues is a fan of small fonts lol orz I guess we'll have to do some editing in some areas before then. We'll keep that in mind. Thank you.

No problem! A large portion of readers on Webtoon read comics on their mobile devices, it's why it's always good to make sure the texts are big enough for them to read too ; v ; )/

For me, it's not even about becoming an "exclusive" artist there. I checked out the site coz I want to build my fanbase/readership, and it seems like its happening slowly using Tapastic alone. The only thing cringed at with Webtoon was the format of a couple of series I peeked at(both were that vertical webcomic looking style)...so now I'm back at step 1, where I want to get more readers, but I'm not sure if Webtoon is a fit.

The amount of downvoters is practically high in webtoon. My series usually bounces from .69 to .65 depending on their mood. smh, I'm pretty sure they're rating it 1 without reading to give their series recognition in the rating section. Also beware of contests, everything is really downvoted to hell. Good luck and don't take the ratings personally.
