Most webcomics don't update daily, so I'm sure they'll survive. Besides, you can add more pages per update if you space them out, and Line Webtoon readers seem to prefer that.

I've recently been uploading an experimental comic on Webtoons... Not getting much feedback yet, but it's only the beginning. Can't wait to see what happens.

Webtoon has its ups and down.

The ups is that once you get featured they spread your work like wild fire. And once it get views they will either publish it or animate it. (That's what they did to Nobleness, and I hope they do the same to God Of High School.

The down side, you can't communicate with your reader like you can do here, so far all you can do is like/post/read comics.

Never had that problem, maybe because I use the auto log in or just use my facebook.

I don't think I will ever post a comic over there, but as a reader I love Webtoons.
I mean I feel that unless you are aiming to become a pro then there's no point, because in webtoons they use ratings so if you are bad imagine your grades lol.

But I suppose it's a good deal because some popular artists that used to post here moved there for example Shen with Bluechair or Randomphilia or the author of Miss Abbott and the Doctor

If you want to maximize the views per update you can upload only twice a month

that's not true in fact they communicate a lot with me. And there's a notification when they reply to your comment. ( I'm using Mobile Webtoon for communication with the fans)

It is true. I used to have 9.00 rating there and then over time someone continued to downvote my work. Now it's down to 7.92..I haven't posted there in a while and thinking of quitting webtoons..it's depressing there.

I've been using LINE for a while now for my comic Laifu. It's in the comedy genre and has just over 300 subs.

But recently, I started a new one in the romance genre called Project STALKER. The response to this one was very very impressive!! It gathered 1.1k subs in under a week with only 2 updates. In LINE, the romance genre is combined with a couple other genres so I think that contributes to the amount of subs.

The ratings for STALKER fluctuates quite a bit. It's sitting at 8.79 right now and whenever it gets close to 9.00, the ratings seem to fall from waves of haters! D:

Other than that, I really love LINE. It has a lot of readers so anyone who's looking for fame will find it over there! The readers also love engaging with creators - it's so heartwarming to see all those nice comments, and rarely is there any rude or disrespectful ones.

I have more comments complaining about my updates on Line then I have positive. As well as arguing with me over whether or not I actually have time for said updates. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I also got a harsh unsolicited crit on my writing ability. I don't mind critiques but this is getting a little too negative of an environment for me.

They complain but they will apologize soon if you do what they want. Just explain it to them and they will understand

I put an adnotation under every episode now when the next update will come out and the complains stopped.

I posted a few of my redone pages for my Beautiful Lies comic. Almost instantly it grabbed peoples attention, probably because of my style. Which is nice. However, my rating is kinda low and I think I know exactly why.

LINE Webtoon is more specifically for webtoons, and webtoons are the very long pages that are all connected (Up-Down). Tapastic is more webtoon friendly as well but there have been penty of comic book and manga styled webcomics here, like mine. But LINE readers are very picky about color. My story is manga like and naturally, no color.

My impressions is that LINE is great but there is probably a restriction to how "inappropriate" you can get in your comics, and it is specific in its wants: Webtoon format and color. Unless you can impress the picky readers with your amazing story and art, they're probably gonna give you shit for it.
I plan on still trying LINE but I like Tapastic more. THERE THAT'S MY CONCLUSION

Overall my experience with LINE has been quite positive. The readers I've gained there have been really friendly and positive, but then again that's probably because my updates have been quite long so far.

The rating system is kind of a joke. From what I understand the majority of people on Webtoon are mostly kids/young teens so I'm not really surprised to come across a bit of immaturity. Whenever I update people tend to upvote my comic to a nice 8.45 ... only for it to be downvoted back down to a 7.95 after a couple of days. I would be lying if I said it didn't wind me up a bit, since it seems that when I get these downvotes I seem to get them all at once. I do wonder if there's a group of people that just have it out for my webcomic. I mean, I did seem to get 2k subs after only about 2 updates so it would make sense if it attracted a bit of negativity too.

Overall, Webtoon is a good platform for getting a big audience. But Tapastic is nicer for getting genuine feedback and comments from older and likeminded people. I like both websites in very different ways and I'm glad I made the decision to post on both of them.
