It doesn't deal with serious mental issues, but there's a ton of complexes on display. Is also more western than anime, but Evangelion was a big influence on me as a kid (showing my age). It's definitely spiritual in nature, and one of the emerging themes is the interconnectivity of church search for truth and the personal search for truth. If by spiritual elements you mean a comic where a load of teenagers fight God with awesome swords, you'll not find it, but there is some action in there.

There was a War will touch on religion / philosophy in the future, its historical fiction to the extent that... its based on a myth thats part of irish history, Balor is mentally ill and autistic and Cethlenn is mentally ill, both are traumatised, war is discussed but more as a tool to explore less tangible situations, but id say there are social themes.
TWAW is about a war between giants and humans (and their gods) thats been going on so long, nobody remembers how it began. Balor's a small giant from a distant island who, after a terrible accident, is forced to fight in the mainland. Cethlenn is a human, witch, and prisoner of war. As their worlds collide, slowly they untangle their histories and try to find peace.

Mental illness? Social/Political themes? Well golly gee all my comics are full of it!

Welcome Back Is a really long comic that deals with political/philosophical elements and later delves into mental illness of multiple characters. Has some action scenes and is more fantasy/sci fi. It deals with a bunch of people from our reality traveling to a dystopian dream world and dealing with struggles.

Garden Of Mold is more of a short silent comic that mostly just covers the story of an agoraphobic man and his plants. No action really, although it does take from some anime themes, maybe? Like surreal pieces of work.

I guess my comic fits this. My main characters are dealing with some mental health issues (mainly depression and anxiety, but I'm about to hit on suicide as well) and it has a lot of political and social themes. I think The Woken ticks most boxes to a degree.

It's got alternate history, (ancient Judea and ancient Rome so far, more to come) it touches on ideas like the nature of reality, the meaning of mortality etc, the main character has deep seated personality issues she's carrying from her childhood, there are some short action scenes so far, (more to come) and it deals with concepts like libertarianism vs authoritarianism, globalism vs nation states, censorship etc.

Heyo! Well, I run a comic that fits the Spiritual/Philosophical elements, Mental Issues (honestly characters fighting anxiety and depression on a fairly literal level is a big theme in the comic), pooossssibly Great Action Scenes (hard to tell from the author's perspective!) and to some extent, Political and Social Themes. It's a daily comic somewhere between sci-fi and slice of life. Definitely worth a look.

It isn't that historical, because it is scifi, but it is inspired by history, if that counts. In the Comic I deal with a lot of things like philosophy, ethics, political and social themes. I don't know if I lay my main focus on topics like mental issues, of course some of my characters aren't that normal, but take a look at it yourself.

Well, I think my comic (only two pages so far so slowly growing!) very lightly touches on more than one these topics, but not in an obvious way. When it comes to mental disorders, it's more... allegorical. Social phobias, insomnia, etc.
