Looking for longterm manga artist (PAID)

Hey there! I'm looking for an artist to help with my project (https://tapas.io/series/Austra-Estelle/info)
I'm a pretty serious writer, I've written stories before but this is my first publication.
The script for this story was finished in 2015, its just a matter of getting the art done and rewriting it at this point.
All I really ask is that you keep in contact and let me work with you in any way I can. Your artstyle doesn't have to be equal to the artstyle shown in the series to this point, but I do ask for a very versatile artist that's okay with drawing just about anything. I touch a lot of topics in this story, and it's important to me that they're portrayed well.
Unfortunately I'm still learning to storyboard, but I'm fully willing to explain every little detail to you so you understand what I want until I can properly storyboard.

As for payment, the series will be black and white, and I'm able to pay $20 USD per page.

This project seems to be important to you, so, if you want an artist to be really dedicated to it, I'd highly suggest saving up some more so you can pay better. You can't really dedicate yourself to any work if you're being underpaid.

You could look into writing commissions on the side to get some money to pay your artist better, perhaps?

I'm sure some people will be up to drawing for 20$ a page but it is kind of an unfair rate. I hope you may reconsider, best of luck with your project

I agree with @AbelDraws . You're very unlikely to find a skilled artist that will work for $20 a page (even in black and white/screentoning). If you can afford it, you should probably pay $100 per page at minimum.

$100 per page is far too much, $20 per page with 15 pages is $300 per chapter, is that not reasonable?

Unless your pages are rough sketches or one single panel per page... I'm afraid I bring bad news.
Just think how many hours it takes to make a whole page and how much you are paying for it: it doesn't reach the minimum wage of most of the countries.

Saving up more money is a pretty good idea, don't rule out your project because we're telling you it's a cheap pay right now.

I'm really sorry if I sound rude, I just think that your work deserves a better financial situation for you (and your future artist) to feel satisfied with the outcome considering how much effort you've put into it.

Yeah personally I suggest looking into what other people are paying for a similar amount of work. Honestly $100 per page is actually REALLY cheap. Being an artist is a lot of work.

Nah I understand, I dont take it as an insult. I pay for the whole thing out of pocket so I have to make room from my living wages to afford this. Trying to get a better job, but this is really all I got right now. I'd love to pay more, and intend to as I make more money, along with any (if any) money I get from this project I fully intend to put back into the series.
$100 per page though is pretty bizarre for me though. I'd understand if it were a complicated page, though.

100$ per page is no exaggeration. If you want to pay less, you could learn how to do thumnails (very basic sketches what happens in the page), flat colors, adding text and such.

You can help take some load off the artist if you want to pay less. If you really lack artistic skill, you could do the storyboards for the artist, as that does not require good art.

Yea, I've been practicing on storyboards. Usually big companies like shonen pay $100 per page because they want it done in a week, but I dont expect it to be done weekly, and also am willing to share profit with the artist, as Im independent and not some company.
