Magical girl by Mimi Nakamura is on tapastic, and surprise! It's a magical girl comic! Bet you couldn't tell by the title.
But in all seriousness it's pretty good, though it is quite a bit darker than most magical girl stories. While it is dark it's definitely not as depressing as Madoka Magica, so you don't worry about feeling dead inside after reading it.

The Hues is one of my current favorites, basically a magical girl version of Independence Day. Gotta second Shattered Starlight too, it's really just beginning but it's one of those I really looks forward to seeing updates =)

My comic 20 Galaxies also has magical girl elements but I haven't gotten that far into the story yet.

Did someone say magical girls?! I got a few for you!

1. Warp #76 hasn't updated in a while unfortunately, buts its magical girl with a darker twist
2. Strawberry Seafoam one of my fav magical girl webcomics <3 super cute and takes place in the ocean!
3. Yellow Neon Not sure if this fits quite into a typical magical girl genre, but I think it's pretty close. Super charming characters with a cute plot. really recommend this one too!
4. Luminous I actually haven't read too much of this one, but it looks promising and the art is nice

Zircon Rose is mine, fine creature. Just started out, but I've been in production for a while, so the plan is to keep regular chunks coming out on a weekly basis.

The goal is to expand on themes either only touched on in other magical girl series, or not touched on at all. There's also magical boys! And magical non-binaries! All sorts of babs just trying to succeed.
