2,4,6,8 all strike me as nicely designed with cool color palettes. I particularly love 2.

As a reader, I'd like to add: 95% of the time, if the story starts with some exposition about the world's lore/history/gods etc, I skip it. In comics, I'll still look at the pictures but I'll skip the text. When I start a story, I'm interested in the characters, not a history lesson or instructio…

The font is quite hard to read. Story-wise it's kinda unclear what's going on. The narrating was strange and turned me off until I realized in the panel where he's standing in the doorway that it was a machine talking to him. The things the machine says might make sense in the context of the story…

Anyone from anywhere can apply. You'll just have to work remotely.

9/10 That face looks like a mixture between "The shining" and "Five nights at freddy's" (because of the unsettling costume he's wearing.)

I think your style is really cute. (Even the monster in the background looks a little cute.) Not really related to what you asked but I think the girl's hands are a bit big for her body. If you place one hand flat on your face, with the heel of your hand resting on the bottom of your chin, the …

Fantasy. The fantasy genre dominates my bookshelf (with comics and novels) and my favorite movies list.

You've already gotten some cool input. Might I suggest you watch the twilight zone episode, "One night at mercy" with Jason Alexander. You can watch it on YouTube. It's a little different than your idea but at it's core it's the same: "What happens if death takes a vacation and people can't die?…

I think it sounds cool. I always enjoy supernatural and paranormal themed stuff and I absolutely love episodic narratives because done right they can be extremely fun and creative. Of course, it still depends on your execution. But that kind of plot gives you a lot of space to play around and be cr…

No problem! So happy I could help. smile

I'm not sure if I'm correct, but it sounds like you're talking about quarter-virus's Louis: http://quarter-virus.deviantart.com/art/Character-Sheet-Louis-Despatis-Pirate-644674271 I don't really know much about it so I'm not sure if it's a comic or storyboard, but I saw it around a couple of years a…

Fantastic question. It's something I used to debate about with myself and I'm hoping other more experienced artists will chime in. I'll say though that it helps if you decide what kind of glasses your character is wearing beforehand because not every glasses stem blocks the eyes in side view. T…

On tapastic I really love Yellow Neon. It's super funny. Off tapastic the only one I read is Agents of the Realm. Very cool comic: http://www.agentsoftherealm.com/aotr/archive

From my opinion as a pure reader, if you can do without a prologue, please do. If you can't, keep it short. Be ruthless in trimming it down. I have a dirty secret: I seldom read prologues. On a good day I might skim through it, but the first chapter is where I put my focus on. Now if the story cap…

Thank you so very much for that link, GoldenPlume. I'm just in awe. I'm stunned. I mean, how is that even possible: to make instruments that sound that good out of garbage? (Not to mention the creator had never seen/heard a violin before.) I have no words for how inspired I feel. Just wow.

It's a bit early to have much of an opinion. I think you have a cute art style. I really like how you add color in as accents. Small question: is this comic going to remain in mostly black and white or switch to full color ala Wizard of Oz style? I ask because seeing a comic titled "Watercolour" …

First off, I'm just giving you my impressions as a reader. I'm a writer, but not of comics. There're probably more qualified people to give you a critique. That said, I really like the story concept! Out of balanced chakras/emotions taking the form of animals. That is really cool! And I already l…

Never too much love in this world. You made my day. <3 Much love to everyone.

If a character is always wearing the same clothing then the clothes will become an integral part of the character. This can strengthen the design in the reader's memory. Ex: Where's Waldo's striped shirt, Cruella's oversized coat, the Flintstones outfits, homer Simpson, Buzz lightyears outfit, et…

Such thoughtful and mature answers here. It's not often people acknowledge both sides. Sometimes the problem is oversensitivity, but most times the problem is a lack of empathy. The others said it perfectly so I'll just add: don't be too hard on yourself and overthink your creative endeavours. No…

My arch nemesis: the mac-user. We meet again. Evil stare. wink

Both Macs and PCs can run the art programs you need to draw with (though sometimes macs require a bit more fussing around with), and both computer types can connect to your tablet. It's really a matter of preference. I use PCs. I may be a bit biased because I've had good experiences with PCs. But …

I very much agree with this! One should be mindful with the slang and cultural references. But I have to call you out on this, Carlos: your post comes across as needlessly bitter. Yes, we get it. You don't give a flute where New Jersey is, or what Walmart and kool aid are, and you refuse to lo…

I second what ziplequick said. You will definitely speed up. It is natural. But it is also gradual and takes time. If you are patient and stick with it in a couple of months you will notice your pace is quicker.

Maybe you should put up an example of the kind of work you want them to do? It'll be good to see the exact detail level and quality of the layout sketches required.

Hi there. I'm just a lurker but I felt that I should add for anyone who's interested: there's an art program called Krita. It's a free program that is excellent for painting especially. It works natively in CMYK, something that many other art programs can't do yet. If you don't want to color in Kri…
