Main Comic with Gag Comic Strips?

I wanted to have to webcomics published: One is the main series while the other is like one of those gag strips for the main comic. Originally I had set them them up as two separate comics but I'm starting to thinking it would be better to just have have the main comic published while the gag strip one will be in the main comic (Probably after a main comic chapter). I figure it would be easier than trying to maintain two different comics on Tapas or any other webcomic hosting site like Webtoon or Global Comix.

Has anyone done that, having a main comic up and running while also having comic strips in there too?

ive seen folks do this and its honestly pretty normal i thought

its like the 4 komas at the end of manga or when the sonic comics did off panel at the end of an issue so would absolutely work with the format of placing them at the end of a chapter

I just stick the gag comics inbetween the chapters.

I will say, if the gag comics are referencing back to the longer chapters, it would make more sense to keep them together. Having it be stand alone might be confusing to those who just randomly stumble across it.
