Male lead or Second male lead?

Hello people!! I hope you are all doing great! As you can read on the title I want to know what are your options on the two main male characters, do you prefer the main one or the second? Why, and what do you usually like about them.

It depends on their individual character! If I jive with one over the other, I'll pick that one whether he's presented as the first or second.

I'm not sure be but it depends. Are they sharing an adventure or is it two different sides of one narrative. My webcomic is the latter because it seem refreshing switch between the two like the game Yakuza 0

Similar everyone's opinions, I think it depends on the characters personality and chemistry.

It depends on how the story is written. If the ML created trauma or did something I can't forgive I usually root for second ML.

If the story is the typical jerk and protective ML but good guy second ML, I usually root for ML.
I like it when the ML teases the MC.
Usually 2nd ML don't tease but are plain good guys with nothing going for them except being extremely good.

I did mention jerk ML but I meant the typical romance story ML that treats the MC like a goddess. Not the ML who is a jerk all the time and treats the MC like they are trash. In those scenarios, I not only root for the 2nd ML but I also abandon the story alltogether.

There's a huge difference between "ooh he is a bad boy that teases me" and "he is a trash ML that abuses me mentally and possibly physically".

I tend to prefer the sidekicks. I feel like they are given more wiggle room to have flaws or be funny. I tend to find male leads or male love interests boring because some writers try way too hard to make them seem cool.
