Thank you! It's a bit of a slow start, but the story kicks in eventually ><
I have subscribed to your as well! Your use of tone+black with backgrounds is really good : )

Looks cool. Woo another to add to my read list. Gonna have a fun week.
Do you post on other sites as well? I feel as if I've seen your work in other sites as well.

As for me, Identity2's my comic. Check it out if you'd like.
Style wise, it definitely leans toward manga. It even reads right to left. Mainly since manga was my influence so I thought I should "honor?" It's roots. But story wise, like yours, set in the U.S.

Actually I made many changes to my original idea cause originally all the characters were Japanese taking place in Japan. But problem came in. I didn't know anything about the area or culture outside of what I get from manga. So I ended up matching the main characters ethnicity to that of mine own and changing the location my hometown.
Makes the story more accurate In a sense and I get to use more cultural references based on my own experiences.

End of wall of text. Sorry bout that XD

I have one that I've been working on one with my sister.
IT reads from left to right
THese are examples of how it looks:

As for problems I guess the problems I have are that people don't always know what direction to read because they might assume it's supposed to read from right to left. Making the characters look different from each other but still anime/manga styled is another problem I encounter, and then there's the making it look like it's all drawn by me is hard. Sometimes I just draw derpy and I can't tell if it flows with the rest of the page. =.=;;;

interesting that you mentioned shonen, my comic may similar to some of shonen comics, feel free to check if you want

as for some samples, these are some of my strips

maybe thats a bit to many pics.

and since you mentioned that your comic will be shonen style i will give it a try too, i do like that style

take care

Really awesome looking comic, looks very professional too. Definitely got a subscribe from me! Don't know if my comic would entirely classify as manga, but it is very shonen-esque in terms of story and content. Check out Shadosassins3 if you get the chance.

Looks just like a Jump Comic. Sort of has the line work of Naruto? It's really cool.

My comic is only sort of Mangaish? Like I didn't intend that but I grew up on Manga so it sort of bled into the stuff I do. If you want to check it out It's here on [Comics on VHS][1].

2 months later

@EiraQueenofSnow and @ArtistHan : You both have a very interesting style. I'll be checking it out.
@Tanisha: Your work looks very polished and almost publication-ready, but I'd suggest you put more effort into laying out your face proportions in 3/4 view? Because that's the main place where you have noticeable errors.

Pitching in my two cents. My comic, as you can tell by the name, is obviously very manga-influenced, but... in sort of a different way than most peoples'. I wouldn't call it "ironic," but it is kind of a deliberate homage - the story's about an anime fangirl, so I decided to develop a manga-like style to draw it in.

...Well, two manga-like styles. Half of it takes place in real life, which has a seinen-like style (my biggest influences, art-style-wise, are Naoki Urasawa (Monster/20th Century Boys) and Satoshi Kon (Paranoia Agent/Paprika). The other half takes place in the main character's fantasies, where I based the art style mainly on JRPG concept art and shonen/shojo anime.

This page shows the difference between the two styles:2

There were several pages where I kinda diverted from the style by experimenting with using pencil shading, but I'm back to it and I'm going to redo those pages.

Anyway, you can read it here.1

Thank you and thanks for the feedback! It's a really hard angle for me to do! ;/ no matter how many tutorials I look up they just never seem to teach it properly or even have it look properly for me to learn from really so it's a constant struggle for me. =-=/
